“I’m thrilled to welcome the A’s to Sutter Health Park, where players and fans alike can enjoy a world-class baseball experience and create unforgettable memories,” Ranadivé said in a release. “Today marks the next chapter of professional sports in Sacramento. The passion of our fans is second to none, and this is an incredible opportunity to showcase one of the most dynamic and vibrant markets in the country.”

Ranadivé later told KCRA 3 that he viewed the decision to bring the A’s to Sacramento as an audition for a permanent team.

The A's will play at Sutter Health Park for the next three seasons — there is an option for a fourth season — as the team's permanent home in Las Vegas is not expected to be ready until 2028.

The A's' lease in Oakland expires after the 2024 season.

This is pretty pathetic

There were initially some concerns about the West Sacramento venue not being able to hold an MLB-sized crowd being able to fit only 14,000 seats. However, the A's have only been averaging about 7,000 fans a game.

They should just play at the local elementary school.

This is pretty cool I think. That Oakland stadium was the shittiest stadium I have been to in decades. They ran out of beer in my section and the urinals were just overflowing and pouring out of the bathroom.

Watching MLB game in a tiny ballpark will be pretty cool.

Never been to that one…it does look bad on TV. A’s Coliseum was comically awful. Hard to believe MLB has put up with that so long.

The new one they are building in Vegas looks very cool.

I’ll be planning a golf trip to Sactown to see the M’s play Oakland in September before they leave that stadium…both teams are out of contention and weather is hopefully a bit cooler. Was there a few years ago in July and it was hot, Africa hot.

Has to be a decent course near there.

Went to Vegas late June 2022 for my 50th.  Met Bert and a couple of his friends for a golf trip.

Was 109 every day. Record highs for that time of year. Sure it was a dry heat, but fock was it hot.

GREAT TIME though,
