I watched darnold at SC.  He follows the same recipe.  When the games don't matter, he's decent.  The second there is pressure, he's good for three turnovers.

As the prophecy states.

could well be this.

I always thought he'd play a couple games and do well, then the defenses have some tape on him and force him to make adjustments to his game.

at that point hes out of his comfort zone and I dont think he adjusts well on the fly when things are not going well.

so once there are a couple games worth of tape, the defenses adjust.    We shall see if this comes to pass again.   But I'll be honest,  I'm not a believer.   he just doesnt pass the eye test for me. (not yet anyways)

I think, Vikings should start McCarthy and draft a rookie backup QB. Save the money for other players; like a nice wide receiver to help get Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hockenson and Aaron Jones open more.

Not really sure how good Brett Rypien is as the backup QB currently; if he got put into real game action. It would probably be run game heavy to open up the pass. McCarthy looked pretty good in the pre-season last year, before getting injured.

Vikings did sign WR- Rondale Moore though, which seems like a nice low risk; possible big reward signing. Also, the recent trade with the 49ers for RB- Jordan Mason is a similar situation; pretty low risk. Would be probably helpful to the Vikings; if they can somehow afford Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs or Keenan Allen type WR to help bring some more talent to their WR core.

Jalen Nailor is pretty good though on the Vikings also. He got over 400 catching yards last year and 6 TD. Josh Oliver is a solid blocking TE; who got 3 TD last year, I think.
