Just another day that liberals don't care about crime.

A shooting in a Chicago neighborhood killed a 7-year-old boy Tuesday as authorities searched for the gunman.

Police officers arrived at the scene in the 2200 block of West Jackson Boulevard and found the boy with a gunshot wound to his chest, authorities said. They attempted to save his life and rushed him to the hospital in a police squad car.

"Life was snuffed out before he even had the opportunity to live it the way it needed to be lived," Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said at the scene. "But this is unacceptable. We are losing our children, and we really need to think about the gun violence that's going on in this city. And we all need to step up to try to fight this gun violence to save our children."

The boy had left his home and was going to visit a neighbor next door, police said. When he stepped on a sidewalk, shots rang out from "a really good distance," Snelling said.

Instead of calling for less GUN violence maybe he should be calling for less violence in general. The Hutu-Tutsi conflict in Africa killed almost a million people in 10 days with manchettes. I wonder if that is more acceptable, because they did not use guns.

Yes. The problem is the problem

 The people committing crime.

That has always been the key to this. Liberals will spend their whole lives looking for other things to blame when in fact 95% of it is just shltty people not being held accountable by stupid ass liberals. Put 100% of the blame on those who point and pull the trigger of the guns and then.grown up discussions can actually start from there.

Gangbangers killing each other doesn't register any sympathy, but 7 y/o kids growing up in an area with gun violence and killed going to the neighbor's house to play is horrific.

I blame the parents. I do. Why would you live in the ghetto? If you have kids it is your responsibility to keep them safe. If my area started having gun fights and random people killed at all times because of gang activity and rampant violence I would move. America is HUGE. You can literally go anywhere and rebuild without the nonsense that comes along with gangland. This may not be gang related and they almost assuredly did not mean to hit him but the likelihood of being hit by bullets in small town USA is incredibly low. Go there as a parent.

I agree. If you can't afford to raise your kid in an evironment that you can control (reasonably), and is safe for the child, then the fault is 100% on you. It's always gets back to people having kids they can't afford or they aren't qualified to raise normally.

Not really, they are held down by the man, they have no choice but to live there.

The residents of Chicago keep voting for this. What can you do if the people that can affect change won’t? This is what happens when the teachers union runs a city.
