US Supreme Court rejects opioid settlement that shields Sackler family

Recommended Posts

This should have never been allowed in the first place. The sacklers were/are not bankrupt. They took 11 billion dollars out of the company over the years because they KNEW one day this would end up happening.

As I recall, these POS also developed/stole a version of Narcan to keep the revenues coming.

Man, that is full on shitty.

I feel like this was the right decision despite all the money left on the table by rejecting the deal.  I agree, they are asking for MORE than what bankruptcy actually affords.  They got a special deal they never should have gotten.

Sue them into oblivion and take ALL of their money.

From The Twitters:

Biggest Sackler family mistake was not providing Thomas and Alito with private jets or vacation homes.

No they are not.  Read Empire of Pain about the Sacklers.  Actually a very good read.

I’m going to pass on this book. From what I have read of them they are sleazeballs.

A complicated decision reflected by the SC vote. How often are Kavanaugh and Jackson going to be on the same side of a 5-4 vote?

Wait until a "What is a woman" lawsuit makes it way to SCOTUS.

I don’t think Kavanaugh and Jackson would find themselves on the same side of that vote.
