sort of like hole in one pot, will be fun laughing at the people that would have won extra

we joke that "it's all luck" but at least most people are drafting golfers based on odds, recent form, course fit, etc.   Hole in one is pure luck.  I have zero interest and im pretty sure one of my goons hit one last season .

but the hole in one pot is a different game.  This "h2h" among more than 2 people is just a side pot using the same edex format, right?  I'm not downing on it. I've done side bets with people in the past for golf items or cash.

I hope so. We need to keep the golf league family friendly.

Also, just posted in the gifts thread that I got this putter:

Holy crap it felt amazing.  I think Harmon and Clark both used it, or similar, to win their recent majors.  I'm super excited to try it on the course.  ⛳

I always wanted to try a counter balanced putter. I mean, I have indoors but never on a course.

I think Harman used an oversized version of that. I remember thinking it looked like he was using a focking broom.  Clark uses an odyssey jailbird that I think he asked to rip off of Fowler... but when he won the major it might have been a Spider.

I got my dad a Spider putter for xmas a few years ago.  Just a basic one, no counter balance. Head looks like what you linked just with red accents instead of blue

I haven't tried it outdoors either, looking forward to it.  I like the "regular" spider very much and was ready to get it.  But once I tried the counterbalance:  I went back and forth hitting 3-6 balls with each.  Every time I went back to the regular one, it just felt... a little shaky.  Since you've tried it, you know how smooth it feels.

Side note on golf gear / xmas gifts....  My dad has never liked hybrids and for whatever reason loves fairway woods. He has 3, 5, 7 and 9 woods in his bag and then goes right to a 6 iron.

It is ridiculously hard to find a brand new or even a certified pre owned 7 wood that isn't wimmens or senior flex. First of all, not a lot of companies even bother with it. All of his woods are Callaway so that was mostly what I was looking for. If you want to pay full price for the latest model, sure, no problem. But if you want to try and match something they are already familiar with (diablo, rogue, epic, etc) good luck. He has graduated to a senior flex shaft in his driver which I set him up with this past spring. But all of his fairway woods are still R flex so I wanted to stay consistent. Callaway's pre owned site looked like my best bet. I found maybe 3 or 4 excellent condition 7 woods with regular flex shafts and every time I added them to my cart and went to pay, they were gone. So for a kind of odd club that not many people play, there seems to be a demand for them.

I ended up getting lucky and found a country club dude on FB Marketplace selling a brand new AI Smoke 7 wood with regular flex for $150. He took $125 for it. Said he wins so many clubs at tricky trays, etc.
