How do you say congrats on winning the world series in LA?

Recommended Posts

LA has this riot stuff down to a science.

Los Angeles Dodgers fans celebrating the team’s eighth World Series title late Wednesday night erupted into a "hostile" crowd that saw "various projectiles" being launched at LAPD officers, the looting of several businesses and even an MTA bus set on fire, police said.

The chaos unfolded after the Dodgers overcame a five-run deficit to beat the New York Yankees, 7-6, in Game 5 of the World Series. Despite the victory in the Bronx, fans flooded the streets of downtown Los Angeles.

Law enforcement issued a warning to Dodgers fans on social media to avoid the area and "celebrate responsibly." However, the LAPD quickly issued a dispersal order after the crowd appeared to get out of hand.

According to several updates shared on X, the LAPD said a "hostile crowd" began throwing fireworks and projectiles at officers. In another post shared by the LAPD, disorderly fans were also seen throwing rocks and bottles at officers.

Police also said several stores in the area were also looted and vandalized, and that arrests had been made. It was not immediately clear how many suspects were taken into custody.

An MTA bus in the area of Sunset and Echo Park was also vandalized and eventually set on fire.

The department shared a video on X showing people running out of a Nike store carrying boxes and visible merchandise.

Police said on X that people in a crowd threw fireworks and "various projectiles" at officers

The crowd at one point "surrounded an MTA bus and is attempting to set it on fire

Guaranteed Harris voters.

Pretty sure it's officially been renamed 'alternative shopping' in California. Anyone referring to it as looting is committing a hate crime.

It's depressing.

Shohei Choketoni had a rough series.  Good thing Freeman stepped up.

Those two guys who grabbed the outfielder's arm and took the ball out had a bad series as well.

Why they weren't charged with assault and made an example of by the police and courts I'll never understand.

I was shocked as well, considering they were both crackers. If they were POC, it would make perfect sense in NYC.

True.

They shouldn't be screwing with stuff like that. Give them each 2-4 weeks in the clink. And spread the news to the public like crazy.

Was it Seles that was stabbed by a nut job in the stands?

Yeah, it was Monica Seles.

As for the punishment for the two who interfered in the Yankees game, my sentence would be as follows.

Two hours a day, every weekday for a month, sharing a hot tub with Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.

If that was a sentence I had to serve, they better put me on suicide watch else I'm never serving it.
