While I prefer football, going to every stadium is definitely an MLB thing because of the uniqueness of each field. I have only been to old and new Yankee stadium, Shea and Citi Field, Camden Yards and Fenway on a tour. Camden Yards felt like a completely different world once you got inside. VividSeats, stubhub, etc. buy the tickets the day before the game. I had 6th row left field seats for Mets/Rays that cost $60 each (I prefer the outfield because the netting does bother me) but you can also grab upper deck tickets for $20-30 and spend some time roaming around the park

I was waiting for the Rays new stadium before taking a trip there for a game but of course they have abandoned those plans due to the hurricane damage to the Trop . I'm sure there are some duds but I also assume there are enough cool, unique or historic ones to make it worth doing and to say you went to them all. I've heard Colorado is fantastic, I know Boston and Baltimore are. Wrigley has to be. San Fran also seems like a cool one if you can sit in right field with the cove behind you. Athletics in Vegas will probably be nice.

We were super respectful when it came to language but we were getting death threats - meet in parking lot requests etc. Finally security came up to us and asked us to leave - we were like we are not doing anything wrong and there is no basis to kick us out. They said they are not kicking us out but asking us to leave because they are not staffed to protect us. We didn’t leave.

posty 2,696 Posted July 7 Cardinals promote top prospect JJ Wetherholt to Triple-A https://www.mlb.com/padres/news/jj-wetherholt-promoted-to-triple-a?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage The Cardinals have promoted top prospect JJ Wetherholt to Triple-A Memphis, the club announced on Monday. The 22-year-old Wetherholt, newly ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 19 prospect in the game, was the Cardinals' first-round Draft pick (seventh overall) last season. Wetherholt played three college seasons at West Virginia, winning a Division I batting title in his sophomore season, when he hit .449. The promotion to Triple-A comes after a strong season for the middle infielder at Double-A Springfield, where he hit .300 with seven homers, an .891 OPS and 14 stolen bases in 62 games. Since making his pro debut at Single-A Palm Beach last season, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Wetherholt has slashed .299/.419/.445 in 401 Minor League plate appearances. Wetherholt also brings defensive versatility, as he's spent time at both second base and shortstop during his pro career. This season, he's played mostly short (36 games), but he has played second (17 games) quite a bit. He's also served as a designated hitter nine times. ----- Hopefully he will continue to succeed... cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 8 I guess if we're doing this: Kauffman Stadium Old Busch Stadium New Busch Stadium Rockies @ Mile High Stadium in their inaugural year Rockies at Coors Field Twins at the Metrodome White Sox @ Comiskey (vs KC) Cubs @ Wrigley (vs KC) Angels back in the late 80's before the renovations Brewers before it was American Family or whatever it is as well as Omaha Royals at Rosenblatt (RIP ) Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA) Las Vegas Aviators (A's AAA) Northwest Arkansas Naturals (AA) Springfield Cardinals (AA) (vs KC affiliate) On my radar, I'd like to visit as many as I can, preferable when they play KC but to prioritize, probably something along the lines of: 1. Fenway Park 2. Camden Yards 3. Quad City River Bandits (Davenport, IA) 4. Columbia Fireflies (Columbia, SC)

He might come out of it, but I would really think this is killing his young psyche... Are you looking at it from simply a numbers perspective, or have you been tracking plate appearances, and how he's responding after ABs? I just asked AI if he is struggling or just unlucky, and this is the feedback. Just watching the games everyday he's not having bad plate appearances and is running into some tough luck on some of these outs. The atmosphere in the dugout and and ways guys are uplifting him seems to be encouraging as he's working through this. I get what you're saying but as I'm casually observing all the interactions I'm really not concerned with it. I think everybody feels like he's going to figure it out and when he does it'll be a pretty big step forward. At least that feels like what we're all waiting for Quote Jac Caglianone's early MLB career with the Kansas City Royals has been a mix of struggles and potentially some bad luck. Here's a look at both sides: Struggles Low Batting Average and On-Base Percentage: His batting average and on-base percentage are significantly lower than his minor league numbers, sitting at .140 and .196 respectively in 2025 MLB stats. Plate Approach: Caglianone is still developing his approach at the plate, particularly in recognizing and laying off pitches outside the strike zone, especially inside fastballs, according to Substack and Royals Review. Low Batting Average on Balls In Play (BABIP): His BABIP is currently very low (.147), which can indicate a streak of bad luck on batted balls finding fielders. Possible unluckiness Advanced Metrics: Some advanced stats like xBA (expected batting average) and xSLG (expected slugging percentage) suggest Caglianone should be performing better based on the quality of his contact. Hard Contact: Despite the low average, Caglianone is making hard contact and putting the ball in play, according to Royals Review. His hard-hit rate is 47.4%, according to MLB.com. Potential for Improvement: Given his talent and prior success in the minor leagues, there is optimism that Caglianone will adjust and improve his performance at the MLB level. The Royals are showing patience with the young player as he learns and adjusts, according to MLB.com. In summary, while Caglianone's surface-level statistics indicate a struggle, there are underlying metrics that suggest he's also been a bit unlucky, and with time and adjustments, he may be able to find more consistent success in the MLB. cmh6476 1,025 Posted Tuesday at 01:55 PM It'll be interesting to see who becomes buyers and sellers at the deadline. All but 3 teams in the AL are only 4.5 games back from the final wild card spot, and just about any of those teams could go on a run and put themselves in the conversation. I feel like that makes it tougher to decide whether you give up a prospect for a rental piece to make that sort of late season push, or if you start looking to next year and beyond and give up a piece that could help another team with a playoff push. The NL race feels a little tighter with about 6 teams fighting for 3 wild card spots, with the D'Backs on the outside looking in. The Royals don't really have any top OF prospects working their way to the majors, so moving a guy like Seth Lugo who some teams might find enticing could make sense if they could get a corner OF player with some pop with a couple years of control. Such a move could make sense for them both in the short-term and long-term outlook for the club, as the rotation is still fairly deep otherwise.
posty 2,696 Posted Tuesday at 02:22 PM The Braves should sell, but they don't have much other than Ozuna and Iglasias, and even then most teams probably aren't that desperate to trade for either one...
