is monk's still open? was favorite back in the day too

I thought I heard they were closing but I don’t know. I almost never make it to Olde City anymore, or any bars outside my immediate neighborhood or commute home.

Maybe one day you’ll go to a bar, have sexual relations with a woman, make a friend, etc. :(

Your life summed up:  🐷

McSorley’s is cool because it looks like a saloon did in the 19th century. If you’re not into history & old 5 Points lore then the sawdust etc must seem dull. But also before the microbrew age they made their own beer, which was a real novelty. Less so now.

One nostalgic place I liked in NYC was Chumley’s. Closed long ago now but they also had their own beer & it had a ton of police, FDNY & literary history.

Beer hall in Salzburg. Grab a mug when you walk in rinse it out and hand it to this dude who probably pours 1000 gallons a day 😂

Delicious

I’m absolutely gonna do this. Used your advice in Amsterdam btw.

Nice! I forgot what I said about Amsterdam but hoped it was good! Van Gogh museum and the apple pie place maybe besides just walking around town.

This beer spot is sweet as is just touring around Salzburg by foot is awesome. Enjoy that.

CBGBs in New York City. I know it’s a music venue but the bar was pretty fawking cool. Most people don’t know this, but CBGB’s stands for Country Blue Grass Blues. Ain’t there no more. Incredible place.

I did not know that. Interesting.

Saw a documentary on it recently. It became a punk rock/rock n roll bar. I went twice on two different trips.

Obviously I and you also went to Tipitinas here in the Big Easy. I also went to the Sunset Strip in LA. Went to Whiskey A Go Go and the Trubador. I know this is an obvious here, but the a piano bar at Pat O’Briens is a must. Especially on dueling piano nights.

This place may be where Bob Ryan, famous NBA sports journalist, almost started a fight with me after a Celtics game, because I told him that if Larry Bird were black, he'd be just another very good player.  This was the late 80s.  We were both drunk.  Good times.

I never knew 'skids was Dennis Rodman.

I went to Rodmans bar after they beat the Hornets to win the series on his birfday. There was big neon sign atop the roof of him driving a Harley smoking a cigar.
