Mike FF Today 721 Posted January 12 This one seemed like likely from the get go... https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1878461675013128452 "Homecoming: Mike Vrabel and the Patriots reached a multi-year agreement to make him New England’s next head coach, per sources. Vrabel now is the seventh individual to become the head coach for a franchise he once helped win a Super Bowl as a player, joining Jerod Mayo, Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg, Art Shell, Jeff Saturday and Jason Garrett." cmh6476 1,009 Posted January 12 He'll be their Mike Tomlin; consistently wins but not in the postseason
weepaws 3,148 Posted January 12 I thought he would be the first to take over. I think it’s a good move.
Showboat 252 Posted January 12 The real question is whether he'll keep Stevenson in the doghouse or see him as one of the better Patriot players who needs to get touches. His tenure with the Titans coincided with commiting to Henry as a true feature back. Seems like a promising development tor Stevenson (unless the Pats ultimately bring in someone else for that role). weepaws 3,148 Posted January 12 From what I’ve read, Stevenson poor practices, and issues with hanging unto the ball , was the reason for the doghouse. He’s going to be removed if it’s earn imo.
Maximum Overkill 1,738 Posted January 14 Nice hire for them. Hopefully they bring someone in who can develop Maye
ICEMAN 41 Posted January 14 Mike was the right guy to hire. The Pats need someone that isn't looking to become a top-notch Head Coach, but someone that already is a great Head Coach. The Titan's f-d up by firing him. Mike will just need to hire the right coordinators, personnel people etc... in order to right the ship. Luckily, he is already well aware of the major attention that needs to be paid to the O-Line in the draft (multiple picks please!), Free Agency (whomever they decide is the best Tackle available) and via trade. They need 3 new starters along the O Line next year. ICEMAN
DocNiner 67 Posted January 15 Vrabel is the right hire for the Patriots partly because of his familiarity with the organization and he's proven he can win as a head coach. He'll be good as well for QB Drake Mayes development. Talk all around of possibly trying to hire Josh MccDaniels as Iffensive Co-ordinator. I think that could be a prudent move plus.the success.he had there previously. Granted he had Tom.Brady and Drake Maye is no Brady, at least not yet and highly unlikely he does what Brady did. McDamiels.will.be good for the young QB. They surely have some big holes that need addressed but Vrable should have an impact on deciding what players they want to target and I'm sure wide receiver will be high up on the list. They'll need to get players who'll.help Maye develop. Overall hiring Vrable is a step.in the right direction for getting this team to playing.winning football so things should be looking up for all the PATS fans.
