Chargers made a very good investment

N Harris goes to the Chargers, that’s very good news for ff.

he is a good power runner.  and behind a good line, I can see him doing well enough.   might be bad news for Gus Edwards though.

So, what does the signing of Harris do to JK Dobbins fantasy stock? For sure Dobbins has overcome some serious injuries in the past but seemed to have put them behind him to a degree last year. Early on he was on fire but production waned later on. I don't see Najee as a 3 down back for the Chargers but he'll most likely get the majority of the touches. Maybe a 75 to 25 split between him and Dobbins. We know Harbaugh wants to run the ball which is going to limit Herbert's production but heck Harbaugh's about winning. Herbert will just have to make the most out of the passing opportunities. Would really like to see them grab TE Loveland in the draft but I've seen mocks having the Broncos take Loveland just ahead of the Chargers. Of that could happen then the Chargers would need to jump jnfront of the Broncos if Harbaugh wants him bad enough.

It's still the Chiefs division to win it and the Chargers will have to contend with the ascending Broncos and the Raiders should be better. It's possible that Harris could see enough touches to finish as a top 20 back and Dobbins will have to get what scraps he he can. Basically though the Chargers have upgraded their running game.

That is the million dollar question.

I suspect this becomes more of a committee.   for sure all carries that belonged to gus are now Harris's.     I also suspect they use dobbins a little less in the hope that he doesnt get hurt.

keeping in mind Vidal likely gets a little more use as he develops as a player.   once again this will be a tough one to predict.

Dobbins is a free agent.  I'd be surprised if the Chargers sign him at this point.  if they do, the Chargers backfield will become a fantasy headache to avoid unless the Chargers somehow manage to find Gibbs/Monty type efficiency that can make two backs viable (I have doubts).

well, he has a skillset that Naj does not.  hed be a nice compliment (if healthy)

but whether they re sign would largely depend on where Vidal is in his development.  if management feels he is ready to play more, maybe they bypass Dobbins.

they could also draft someone.  its supposed to be a deep draft at RB.   they wouldnt even need to use a first rounder.   though I think another WR wouldnt be a bad call.  or a playmaker on D

I think N Harris is a good fit, now they can pick up a te, or another wr.   I think they resign Dobbins.

Najee doesn't have a skill set.

Take handoff and run into the pile, that's his skillset.

I think Harris could be a high rb2 in ppr.

He'll be TD dependant (as usual) but I can definitely see that.

They could target someone in the draft.  A lot of stuff that I've read has Jeanty rated as a top 10 pick, but a whole bunch are rated between 20 and 65... the Chargers have picks 22 and 55.

well, I think the Chargers o line is better than what they have in pittsburgh and the pass game is more dangerous and as a whole the offense less predictable Than in Pittsburgh so you wont have teams stacking the box like they did against Pittsburgh.   I predict better YPC with the Chargers than what he provided in Pittsburgh.

what I dont know is if he gets less touches or more.   My feeling is that there will be another back sharing carries with him and I have no idea what the split is likely to be.   so it is too early to project numbers.    but I'll commit to the better YPC.   I think that is a reality in LA.
