People really aren’t afraid to be racist anymore

Connor Estelle (aka Pinesap), a self-described Catholic fascist, debated Mehdi Hasan in Jubilee's "Surrounded" series with 20 far-right participants. He admitted to fascist views, said he didn't mind being called a Nazi, and defended extreme ideologies. The viral video led to his firing from cloud engineering job at VeUP for these "traditional right-wing views." He's now fundraising online.

Ah hadn’t seen a company name before, yeah that looks legit.  Too bad so sad.

You start a thread on racism and don't know what it is

Are you suggesting it’s racist to fire someone for admitting to being a fascist?

I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if he made up being fired so he could start the gofundme, but just speculation

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if you are just a blowhard on the internet seeking attention.

So now what?

His are not "traditional right wing views."

Startlingly, as I watched that show, it turns out that they do seem to be modern right wing views. He might have been the only one that openly admitted to being a fascist, but there were plenty in that group that had clear, obvious, and stated animosity toward the constitution. One admitted to being in support of authoritarianism.

Trump's America.

He was definitely better than them overall, although I didn’t agree with everything he said.

Righties on social media were salivating over the guy from this clip because he knew the author’s name of some study Hasan referenced, but then he rambled on only to eventually admit that a 10% increase in immigration only resulted in a 0.5% decrease in wages overall.   I’m not sure why Hasan would dispute them bringing down wages overall, but he correctly pointed out other reasons that immigrants contribute to the economy.

Oh and probably worth noting that this dude claimed he didn’t even vote Republican.  Unless of course he was pulling an @EternalShinyAndChrome and would say that saying “who said I voted Republican?” somehow means he did actually vote Republican

How do you know who voted for who?

You don't. You are such a an attention seeker that you even reply to your own posts when no one else cares. Pathetic.

Did he rally admit to being a fascist, or was he being dismissive of the label due to its overuse by feminized liberals? Without knowing I’d bet it’s the latter.  He looks like a doosh though. I’ll say that.

He said “who said I voted Republican?”

A normal person (AKA not @EternalShinyAndChrome) would interpret that to mean he did not vote Republican.  Of course the same guy also said “who said I’m not an economist?” only to later admit he in fact was not an economist

And of course as Hasan pointed out the title of the video is “1 Progressive vs 20 Far Right Conservatives,” I assume there was some sort of description given when these guys signed up, so it would seem fair for Hasan to initially assume he voted Republican.

If he asked you a question, just answer it. Who said he voted Republican? That's not a difficult question.

Most likely himself before he got picked to be in the video.

But I guess saying “who said I ___ ?“ is the new line for conservatives to try to deny something they do actually believe.  @BrahmaBulls did that as well when he initially tried casting doubt that he never thought Vance Boelter was a lib, only to eventually admit that even now he thinks Boelter is more likely to be a lib than a Republican.

Who said he voted Republican? Just say no one. It's ok to not know.

Did Bulls say vance boelter was not a lib? Or whatever words you are putting on him?

In that video, no one.  But like I said, the only reasonable way to interpret him saying that is that he is actually claiming he did NOT vote Republican.    So I thought it was funny that conservatives on social media were slobbering over him yet he pretty much said he didn’t vote Republican.

My interpretation is, he asked who said he voted Republican. In a basic logic class, that does not tell you who he voted for. There is no logical conclusion. And if you answered there is a logical conclusion, then you would get that question wrong on a test.

No, it doesn’t make logical sense to do that if the statement is actually true. Hasan did the same thing in regards to asking when he said something that he never said, but it was when the other person attributed a statement to him that he never said, but also didn’t agree with (that Americans are lazy).

It was a question, not a statement. And stick to one thing at a time. You try to muddy the waters over the most basic things that you are skipping past. Your premise is flawed from the start. Everything after that, doesn't matter.

Hasan:  I think we might have to rename this show, because you’re a little more than a far-right Republican

Fascist dude:  Hey, what can I say?

Hasan: I think you can say, “I’m a fascist”

Fascist dude.  Yeah, I am.  Absolutely.

I answered the last question you asked.   Your last post about that idiot did not contain a question, clearly we disagree so I’m moving on.

A 10% increase in immigration causing a .5% decrease in wages is actually a damning result.

I havent read the actual study, so I have no idea how accurately that is being portrayed, but if taken at face value it is a great argument against increasing immigration.

You said you know how people voted when you don't know. And then you used that faulty logic as a basis to some other thing.

It's like saying building a home would be beautiful and sellable if you built it on mudslide.

Huh?  I said a reasonable person would interpret someone saying “who said I voted Republican?” as them wanting to imply that they didn’t actually vote Republican.  And I stand by that.

A reasonable person would answer the logic question with "there is not enough info given to make a definitive assertion on who someone voted for".

You try to build arguments on your speculation. It doesn't work like that.

You can disagree, but you would logically be wrong.

You can not definitely say who someone voted for simply by that person saying "Who said I voted Republican?"

I didn’t say it was “definite.”  HTH

But you did try to move your 'logic' as a foundation to try to 'prove' some bigger thing.

So that's where I cut off.

Faulty premise. End of story.
