In a video shared with ABC News, Nathaniel and a Palestinian-American man he was traveling with, Yaser Alkem, are seen stopping at a checkpoint with what appear to be two Israeli military vehicles.

Two minutes later, the journalist walked up to the soldiers, who questioned him.

"I am an American, I am visiting," Nathaniel can be heard saying in the video. "We just need help getting out because the settlers over there are blocking us. This is the only other way -- just back to Turmus’ayya, back to the village. We just want to go home."

The soldiers then asked him to retrieve his passport from the car, the video shows.

"They told us to park the car and wait with them until the settlers were gone, so they would secure our presence," Alkem told ABC News. "They said they would make sure the settlers were gone before letting us through. We followed their directions."

However, the IDF troops did not protect the farmers, according to Nathaniel and Alkem, who captured the incident on video. Video shows the group being chased by more than 20 masked men whom witnesses say were Israeli settlers. In the videos, IDF troops were not seen intervening as the attack escalated rapidly.

Turmus’ayya is home to a large number of Palestinian-American citizens, including Yaser Alkem, who returned to live there full-time after 35 years in California.

"We have no one to turn to other than our home country, which is the United States of America, and it has so far let us down," Alkem told ABC News. "We’ve asked for assistance. We’ve asked for protection. We’ve asked for equal treatment."<<

- The backstory to this is apparently (ahem) Ambassador Mike Huckabee (noted Fox host & base player) hasn’t been taking phone calls from Americans seeking assistance on attacks. This has included residents & at least one reporter. So here a Palestinian woman was abused, nearly killed, hospitalized & the embassy who is informed of it by the reporter says they’re not aware of it.

The woman isn’t American, the guy recording is.  So I guess they carefully worded their statement to say they’re not aware of “an American” being wounded, as he apparently was not.

His video doesn't show the IDF doing what he accuses them of doing. Why is that?

What are you referring to exactly?  Did you watch the 8+ minute video?  It includes audio of him talking to a soldier saying they can go through and replying yes after he asks “you’re going to move them?”

They’ll just do it unofficially like they have been

He accuses the IDF of setting them up to allow them to be ambushed by Israelis. He claims the IDF pointed them a certain direction and then quickly left them. There's no proof that IDF set them up for an attack that I saw. I watched the entire video.

Like I said, there is audio of him asking them if they are going to move the settlers, they replied yes, but they clearly did not.  I guess you can argue it’s not 100% confirmed it was a setup as opposed to just them not giving an f.

Like I said, they didn't set him up to be attacked like he accuses them of. Also, he's a pro-Palestinian press guy from the USA claiming he's checking the grapes. In reality he's there to find a gotcha against Israel and the IDF, similar to what you do here. Now he's crying the Israeli govt. and the US govt. aren't doing enough and he says next time he will have to actually get injured. I'm done talking about this now.

They didn’t, or you don’t think there’s proof they did?  Those are two very different things, so thanks for showing your own bias as well.

He's out there recording. I don't see it in the video is what I'm saying. You'd think he would have recorded that if it happens exactly how he claims it did. I even think it's possible he believes the IDF set him up, but they didn't. It's possible he's correct, yes, but he doesn't provide video evidence backing it up is all I'm saying.

It’s not definitive, but there is some evidence as again, there is recording of him asking the soldiers “you’re going to move them?” They say “yes,” but clearly they did not.

Are you pretending to be this stupid? Or are you really a typical liberal dumbass for real. Because you are out-stupiding the stupid at this point.

I haven't read this thread in a while so I thought I'd catch up.  I learned that Tim thinks Israel has some magical anti-video technology which prevents the IDF from being video recorded.

I also learned that Tim has flanked from Gaza to Judea and Samaria for his quixotic chase of IDF war crimes.  I prefer to call the West Bank "Judea and Samaria," its original name, because it reminds people of the origin of the word "Judaism," since Jews were there centuries or millenia before Islam existed.

Also, keep in mind that if there is any chance that IDF did something bad, no matter how flimsy, Tim will believe it without question.  He has much higher standards for thinking ill of good guys like wife-beating illegal-alien-smuggling illegall aliens from El Salvador.

The incident in question was recorded on audio, and there is a later full video of them “apologizing” about it.  It definitely happened, the only debate is whether or not it was “a setup.”

I noticed you didn’t comment about the woman that was beaten with a club.  Noted.

I have made previous comments about the West Bank as well.  It’s not usually the IDF committing the crimes there, but the government does often enable the terrorizing that the Settlers do to the residents there.  The IDF would be involved though in crimes like keeping an American citizen child imprisoned for 8 months without charge, only accused of throwing rocks.

That’s nice that you like to rewrite history and imply that the West Bank should belong to Israel, but there were these things called the Oslo Accords that determined that most of it does not.
