It took place just a couple years ago. I might have missed it but can’t believe it didn’t make bigger news headlines.

So I watched this.  While it's an interesting story with a weird twist, I really felt like I'd wasted about 90 minutes of my life.   But that was just me.  I know some of you found this fascinating.  I just felt really sorry for most of the players in it, especially the boy and girl who broke up over it.  The one girl's b*tch Mom may have prevented her from finding her life long true love.  That was a shame.

Thank you for bumping this.

Am watching it right now and holy cr@p. I am just at the part where they did the reveal and I feel for the kids out of all of them.

There's no way I'd have a relationship with my family after this. Nope. No contact.

Are you referring to the daughter still wanting a relationship with her mother?  Yeah, I wouldn't do that either.  It was weird how the mother and daughter were clinging to each other basically when the cops came and told the family that the mother was the perp.  But it adds credence to the cop (I think) who compared this situation to Munchausen by Proxy. In those cases the kid often is basically brainwashed by the parent.  I wonder how that relationship ends up over a longer period of time.  It's only been a year or two since the Mom got out of prison.  And what shocked me the most is that the Mother really hasn't taken responsibility.  Hopefully the daughter will realize what a selfish c*nt she has for a Mother and distance herself, as the Father clearly has.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but what a boring focking thread it would be if all any of us said was something along the lines of:

How long after a program airs before we can actually discuss the content of the program, oh rule master?

I have to agree here. Add “Spoilers” to the thread title. There isn’t anything else to say except. I watched it too. Look at me look at me.

At the start the girl talked about it being a small town and the parents/adults had nothing to do so they got involved in the teens drama and gossip. I immediately thought “well, it’s a teacher or a parent”. They covered that up well by interviewing all 4 parents, bc no way should that lady have had the nerve to sit and talk about what she did. Psycho.

And the end, when she says we’ve all committed crimes and compared having a few beers and driving but not getting caught for a DUI to pushing your own kid to the brink of suicide was wildly outlandish.

Once the reveal was over there was still 20+ minutes left. Complete waste of time.

Agreed, Should not have used the last 20 minutes to deflect, lie and prevaricate.

Thread isn't even 5 days old, asshat.

So answer the question asshat:

How do you expect me to follow the "rules" if I don't know what they are?

I kind of caught on when one of the text was about a basketball game; they berated Lauryn for the scant amount of points she scored vs the number that another player made. Then Lauryn said, "My mom was the score-keeper for our games."

Um.

Duh. The score keeper is the ONLY person who gives that much of a shiite about the number of points each kid scores; unless you're that kids parent.

Yes.

There's NO way I could have contact with my mother if she did this.

I do agree that it's likely a Munchausen situation. I mean, the father standing there and saying, "No more. You need to leave" and how they clung together.

Eventually I am hoping the daughter goes no contact. The mother will continue to be this way; she's not changing. Esp when the mother's sister (I think) says that she's always been the type to want attention, acting certain ways, etc.
