If it was truly a bunch of cartel members trafficking large amounts of drugs into the country, very few people would have a problem with the outcome. 

What I'm struggling with is:

• Where's the evidence, outside of Trump's word, that these guys were doing what was claimed? I read somewhere that Venezuela is contesting the validity of the story, unsurprisingly. But the interesting thing was the claim that any smuggling boat would have more fuel aboard than drugs, and there was not video evidence of fuel drums being present. That's obviously not enough evidence to make a judgment on one way or another, but it does call some things into question.
• The questions of legality surrounding Trump's designation of TDA as a terrorist org. That's some very novel, untested legal theory.
• The use of the US military to carry out police operations is also under legal inquiry, more novel interpretations of existing law.
• Possible military and geopolitical ramifications with a nation run by a POS dictator that allegedly controls the cartels, or at least works with them.

IF it is shown that this whole operation was on the up-and-up, and constitutionally legal, then these issues go away and we can hail father Trump for keeping drugs off of our already filthy and crime-ridden, soon-to-be-occupied city streets. 

We're not defending vile criminals. We're defending the US citizens and their constitution against government corruption and overreach. Something conservatives USED to staunchly believe in.
