DUNNELLON, Fla. — Update: Marion County deputies say 17-year-old Caden Speight has been found safe in Williston. The investigation into his disappearance is ongoing.

---

Previous article: Investigators are releasing new information and photos in the search for Caden Rex Speight, the 17-year-old boy at the center of an active Amber Alert in Florida.

Marion County deputies said Speight was last seen Thursday afternoon on SW Highway 484 near SW 128th Avenue in Dunnellon — the same location of a shooting investigation that began around 4:10 p.m. that same day.

Through the investigation of the reported shooting, detectives said there is no evidence to support initial reports that the teen was taken by four men in a light-colored van. Instead, they believe Speight left SW Highway 484 on a black bicycle.

According to the sheriff's office, Speight may also have a red and grey tent that he bought from the Walmart on SW 19th Avenue Road in Ocala.

"Initial information was later determined to be inaccurate; however, we always give everything we have until the investigation takes us into a different direction," Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said in a statement.
