Vikings Receiver Charles Johnson

Recommended Posts

How do you guys feel about him? With Wallace added to the Vikings receiving corps they have a decent amount of talent in Rudolph, Patterson (talent is there just don't know if he performs), Greg jennings(if he remains), Wallace, and Johnson. Norv Turner is calling him their number 1 wideout but honestly I haven't paid any attention to him. What are you guys thoughts on him?

They let Jennings go already . I see same numbers as last season . Don't know why that will change

Possible signing with Green Bay I hear. He could be had at a major discount so if he returns then he could be fantasy relevant

He is not going to sign with GB.

Why would they?

He still wants a decent amount of money (turned down a chance to restructure with Minny).

GB isn't going to spend on another WR...that could slow the growth of Adams.

And Jennings isn't coming back to GB on a deal that would pay him like a #4 WR.

Didn't say he would. Just saying that he is looking at wanting to return there.

There's link. Highly doubt he would go there. I'm just repeating what he said

He's a small school speed-size sabermetrics freak guy that wasn't highly drafted (7th round) and now he also has a reconstructed knee. I'd been reading Rotoworld blurbs praising how naturally talented he was all the way back to his rookie Green Bay years. It followed him from Green Bay to Cleveland to Minny. Too raw and far down the depth chart in Green Bay, they put him on the practice squad. Cleveland picked him up but he missed the year since he had a torn ACL and was soon forgotten. Then last year, the geniuses running the Browns, much to Kyle Shanahan's chagrin, unsuccessfully tried to stash him on the practice squad so they could keep feared WR wonders such as Miles Austin, Nate Burleson, and Andrew Hawkins. Yes, when 2014 started, he was a practice squad WR for the team with the worst WR corps in the game. Anyways, despite this indignity, Minny snagged him out from their dumb asses and installed him in as a WR5 where he gradually climbed up the depth chart.

Finally he had that one game where he was started over Patterson and played well.

Seeing this and picking last at 14th in waivers every week. I always miss out on everyone but with Johnson, I had a good feeling and was really hoping this particular player would slide. And he did, I got lucky. I immediately plugged him into the injury-plagued flex spot on my starting roster which he promptly stabilized and remained a fixture there the rest of the season. I certainly have no complaints.

Always supertalented, Johnson is every bit the gym shorts freak of nature that Patterson is (or at worst really, really close). This guy was finally given a chance to prove himself and he ran with it. He'll be hard to dislodge now even if Patterson does get his head on straight.

Released by the Browns early last season.......which means, he must be good.

Looked good the few games i watched him play. I see Bridgewater making another big step forward next season, it can only benefit Johnson. So ya, if he's there late in the draft...grab him.

Excellent analysis, Voltaire....thank you.

I like him and Chris Matthews as value picks in 2015 redrafts.

In fact, watching Chris matthews play in the SB sent a tingle up my leg. (who gets this reference?)
