Didn't Todd zeile pitch in a couple? I don't think he makes the hall though

Gotcha. I cant imagine there are too many, especially HOF type guys that would even attempt to pitch anymore.

Technically, there are others since you phrased it as "MLB Hall of Fame Batters". Pitchers are periodically batters (more in the NL), so I think that you mean "Position Players". HTH. GFY.

I would hope that none of them are. Not all position players are in the HOF for their batting only.

the few that are, shouldn't be there.

 

Defense does matter, but harder to quantify.

but there are guys who were borderline hitters that were good fielders and/or good base runners and it certainly helps their HOF credentials.
