RLLD 3,455 Posted October 23, 2018 ATLANTA – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta reports this week 155 cases this year of a rare, polio-like condition affecting mostly children. Acute flaccid myelitis, or AFM, has been confirmed across 22 states including North and South Carolina. Many more cases of AFM, which affects the nervous system and can cause paralysis, have been reported. The CDC says the number of cases under investigation is up from 127 patients a week ago. https://myfox8.com/2018/10/23/rare-polio-like-disease-is-spreading-according-to-cdc/

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted October 23, 2018 My understanding is that this disease has some sort of cycle. At least in recent years, it has had a surge and then the following year a drop in cases. Then it alternates again. So, it is not a new thing, but one that is getting some press this time around.

I have read that it seems to be more prevalent with children as well.... scary stuff
