Lamar Miller and Steven Ridley Just Dropped...Thoughts Moving Forward On Each

Recommended Posts

I have been looking for a solid RB4/5 and have a WR to spare. Are one of these guys worth an add/drop? I only get 10 the entire season so I have to be selective.

Standard scoring, no PPR. My WR are Colston, Nelson, Decker, Nicks, Wallace and Hopkins.

Grab Ridley now.

My RB4 is Bernard Pierce. I also have Rice, McCoy and CJ2K. Is Pierce worth dropping for Rid or Miller? And who would you dump among my 6 WR for the other?

4 team league? with 5th graders?

Thanks for the analysis. Its a $250 buy-in 10 team keeper league that has been going on for 15 years. We only get 10 moves so bye weeks create interesting add/drops. You have to be smart. I took a gamble last year, and won, and played with no QB so I would not have to use an add/drop. We also don't use the TE position. It is combined with the WR so Ridley was dropped for Julius Thomas.

Would rather have it this way than play in a league where you can make unlimited moves every week and make 50+ transactions in a year. There is no skill to that.

You cant leave out important information like that it is a keeper league and be insulted when people question whats going on. He wasnt smooth, but he got important information out of you.

I've played with roster limitations and without them. I don't think either way requires more "skill" per se, but having such a strict limitation does require patience and each move has a lot of meaning. I'm not surprised there's good players out there with that limitation in moves.

Good to put him in his place.

I wouldn't drop any of your WRs. With the 3 RBs you have, whoever your RB4 is will probably not play much if ever. Ridley has done little all year and even with Vereen gone, they still had him in a 3 way timeshare last week. For upside, I'd put Miller in for Pierce, but it really won't make a difference long term either way.

Thanks fr the solid feedback. Injuries are up this year, or so it seems. Rice is out so I am down to three good backs. Having a 5th solid one there is reassuring. Leaning Miller over Ridley now if I had to grab one and leaning dropping Hopkins. Wallace is more of a "name" so he has more trade value as sad as that sounds.

I own both and am 0-3. No way would I drop both. Must be a pretty shallow league.

I would pick up both. They've frustrated me so far but I think both will turn it around. They are definitely the best two rb's on their teams.

I am in a 10 team league with only 6 moves and I highly doubt I would see anyone drop one of those two rbs. Not saying the whole league is a bunch of experts, but I never really see a drop of that caliber player.

If you want to get technical and get mad when someone gives you a little dig for this post, remember, help questions don't belong on this board.

How does your keepers work? I'm in a non-ppr 12 team deep keeper and RBs are of tremendous value. Also I have Ridley and wouldn't drop him (yet).

I would grab them both.

you can still have a 15 yr league $150 buy in and be full of retards.... RB's are a premium, Ridley will get going soon as Gronk gets back in, Miller is the most talented RB on a team with one of the best olines. When I read this I thought it must be one of those stupid 6 or 8 leagues

Thanks for the comments guys.

As far as the keepers, you can keep two but only one per position (so you cant keep 2 RB's etc.). It is based on fantasy points from the year prior. Top 5 at a position is a 1st rounder, 2nd 5 is a 2nd rounder and so on. For example, I surrendered a 2 for Rice as he was the #7 back on our ranking.

Frozenbeernuts...

The thread was not intended to be a help question, it was a "who do you like better" thread that turned into a help thread. I have been a member on the board since its inception in '99 and I try to be very careful. You have helped me out a bunch in other threads. Thanks and good luck this week. I love beer nuts by the way!
