Drop Evans for Colston or Cotchery?

Recommended Posts

0-2, barely scoring 50 points a game -- no way for the defending champion to try to defend his title.

Roster:

QBs: Bulger, Rivers (start 1)

RBs: Tiki, Foster, Jordan, Barber III, Jacobs (2)

WRs: Boldin, Evans, Moulds

TE: McMichael

K: Akers

DST: Panthers, Colts

Free agents:

Colston, Cotchery, Toomer, Berrian, Alex Smith, Carr, Norwood

Would you drop Evans? He's doing zilch. And for whom? Colts seem droppable but then again are better than the DSTs a couple of other teams have and likely would be picked up quickly, meaning I'd get nothing for them.

I'm dropping Evans for either Cotchery or Berrian. I just don't see Evans getting the targets like I'd hoped. He'll have a few 100+ yard games, but they will always be when he's benched.

I'd pick up Colston if I were you. He really looks like one of those WRs that are un-coverable in the red zone...he's just too big and the Saints just have too many other weapons that teams need to account for down there. No way they can double-team him.

Drop Evens for Colston if he's still available!

Colston would be a solid pickup, especially in a Yahoo league, as he is listed as both a WR and a TE. He's going to be my Week 3 replacement for Antonio Gates, as the Chargers have a bye then.

What is happening with Evans? I haven't had the chance to watch a Bills game. Is he not getting the throws? Dropping passes? Triple covered? Just a crap QB? I'm disappointed and in WR hell, because my backups Brown and Bennett managed TDs while Evans scored Zero points for me (we have to at least break 70 yards to get 5 points on yardage.) Of course, S Smith has me in WR hell too...

I don't want to drop him, but since I have McGahee too, I feel like I'm double dipping a bit and while McGahee is showing some promise, Evans is skipping out so far.

FYI, Evans was available in the 6th round, so I took him.

Thanks for the help...I personally like Cotchery. Colston just bugs me being on the Saints. I just think that that will go nowhere.

I think it's too early to say goodbye to Evans. The whole Buffalo offense has some work to do, but they will come around and Evans will start to put up some better numbers. He's too talented to drop for unknown receivers.

Bad thing is all I have aside from Evans is Moulds and while I wait for Evans to come around I could end up going 0-3, 0-4. If he had just put up 2 more points I'd have won. I pick on him because 2 points at the starting #2 WR is terrible.

I just had a post over the past few days titled "Colston or Cotchery - Which do I pick up?" The Overwhelming majority advised me to go with Colston. This man is a big target for Brees and I think he riminds Brees of a certain TE in SD.

Cotchery definitely impresses me as well but I only had room for one.

See my new dilemma please

My vote is 110% for Colston. If this is for a Yahoo league, Colston can also help out in Week 8 as a bye week replacement for McMicheal. Also, Colston's bye week fits in better with your other receivers than Crotchery (same bye week as Boldin).

I would not recommend Crothery for the same reason as you didn't recommend Pennington in my QB quandry. If Pennington goes down, Crotchery's production could see an immediate decrease if the replacement QB is unable to get the ball to him.

Thanks everyone. I am going to add Colston and drop Evans. I don't like Evans schedule next few weeks:

Sep 10 @New England Lost 17-19

Sep 17 @Miami Won 16-6

Sep 24 N.Y. Jets 1:00pm 24th in D

Oct 1 Minnesota 1:00pm 7th in D

Oct 8 @Chicago 1:00pm 4th in D

Oct 15 @Detroit 1:00pm 21st in D

Oct 22 New England 1:00pm 13th in D

Week 8 BYE

He plays a weak D this week but then two good Ds, a weak, an okay D he did nothing against in week 1, then a bye. So for the next 6 games, I get maybe 2 good games.

Colston's/New Orleans schedule isn't exactly easy, though the Bucs aren't what they used to be...

He is still free in my league though. I'll have to think about this one.

New Orleans schedule:

3 Atlanta Falcons

4 @ Carolina Panthers

5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

6 Philadelphia Eagles

8 Baltimore Ravens

9 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

10 @ Pittsburgh Steelers

11 Cincinnati Bengals

12 @ Atlanta Falcons

13 San Francisco 49RS

14 @ Dallas Cowboys

15 Washington Redskins

16 @ New York Giants

17 Carolina Panthers
