NAn 39 Posted March 29, 2003 nan chiming in. like idea of changing to a keeper league: 2-3 max imo, and only players taken 6rnds+(this way it rewards us for our sleeper picks and future drafts still interesting as top name guys still on board). i'd like to see the "x" numbers for the wr's v the other positions for last year...see if changing to 1pt per 10yds RECIEVING makes sense or if it's fine the way it is. regarding plaque: say we each put in $7-10 w/money being sent to champ who will use money to pay for shipping to champ the NEXT year...the rest will be a little bonus for winning. more to come... In regards to keepers...wouldn't mind 2-3...dependent on round chosen...costing a draft pick 2 rounds higher then what you spent...So players drafted in 3rd round would be eligible. Every year kept he his draft pick would rise two more rounds. So if you are lucky and draft the next Emmitt Smith in the 15 round you would be able to keep him for 7 years!(I"m not worried about the league folding at all..) This is what I would like as well, but why limit it to 2 or 3. I would say a maximum of 5 maybe. Also, FAs cannot be kept the following year. Just to be clear, you draft good players in rounds 4, 7, 9, 10 this year. If you keep them, they would cost you next years 2, 5, 7 and 8 picks. The following year, the first guy is back in the draft and the other keepers would cost you 3, 5 and 6 round picks. Also, if you have 2 keepers that would end up costing you the same round pick (either through trade or different years drafted) then one of the players would cost you a round higher. eg. you draft joe blow in the 5th and trade for Fred Blow who was also a 5th round pick and want to keep both. As for a # of keepers, I am game for anyhting. hwat is nice here is none of my league have ever done this so...anything new keeps ff fresh. A few things mentioned in a post by me. 1. Trophy- lets get this done. 2. Who is the new commish...remember we said it would float. Either for 1 or 2 year terms. 3. Fill in any spots needed. I vote that that guy named Dawgs is outski! Haven't been keeping in tabs with what's been going on in the NFL, but I better start (too much war watching). # keepers doesn't matter to me. I like the idea of keeping only 3+ rounders, with the loss of 2 rds higher than drafted, though I'd prefer being able to keep him as long as we want. Basically, I like Cyric's idea. NAn 39 Posted March 29, 2003 agree about a live draft. i'm cool w/walt commishing. yeah, dawg definitely out and cowboychip as well...i appreciate guys asking to be in(coming from the guy who did just that) but unless they get vouched for by 1-2 of us/most of us recognize them as at least semi-regulars on the board/we all agree i'd like every owner to be active/solid members. others were deadpool/go chargers/urlacher's angels...these guys mostly are just around during the season but were all solid owners that i'd expect to be back. i like the keepers only after 3rd rnd/other related rules proposed by cyric/walt...would like it all laid out so we're all clear. i'll go w/the flow but imo limiting keepers to just 2-3 makes each owner's decision on who they keep more important/challenging. Let's set up a live draft as soon as the league is set up. If they can't draft live, it will autopick for them. Let's get the trophy. Someone collect the money and don't send out the league# and password until the money is received. If we have 14 teams, $5 - $7 per person is sufficient. I really don't care about the keeper league.
