bigmarc27 24 Posted March 15, 2006 I've looked over past brackets and I've figured out the biggest mistake I always make is picking too many early upsets and sometimes taking the early guys too far. That said, I don't see any early round upsets I really like this year. My elite 8 currently looks like this: Duke, Iowa, Kansas, UCLA, UConn, UNC, OHSt, B.C. The only final 4 team I've locked in is Duke, just because I think their region is the weakest. The only real upsets I have are Bucknell in the sweet 16, NCSt > Texas, IU > Gonzaga, Seton Hall > Tenn, and OU > UF (if you can call that an upset). I thought about South Alabama > UF, but couldn't pull the trigger yet. Anyway, I just need some bracket talk -- what are your upset locks?
golden eagles 0 Posted March 15, 2006 I'd be careful with NC State over any body. They are limping home, losing their last 4, 2 at home, 3 by double digits. I think they've quit on Sendek, at least it appeared that way in an ugly loss to WF in the ACC Tourney by 13 (It wasn't that close) . They go out in Round 1 in my bracket
SigEp316 0 Posted March 15, 2006 I like Georgetown to sneak through a little ways also like Kansas in the Final
Blue 0 Posted March 15, 2006 UCLA has an easy region. Memphis.. Pitt could be tough.. Kansas is young Gonzaga played too many close games for me to take them far.

jerryskids 6,835 Posted March 15, 2006 BC is the darling "upset" making it to the final 4. I admittedly haven't seen them play but a lot of people in your pool will probably pick them. I'd go elsewhere.
Eagles Green 34 Posted March 16, 2006 Texas wins it all.
nobody 2,691 Posted March 16, 2006 A little trick I use is only pick upsets for teams that you think could lose in the next round as well. That way you really have to screw up all the way to the final four to completely destroy your bracket. Xavier over Gonzaga. I've watched a lot of Gonzaga games, and I've seen junior varsity teams play better defense.
JetsFan28 0 Posted March 16, 2006 I didn't have the balls to put it in my bracket, but I like Winthrop over Tennessee. That's my upset special.
phillybear 366 Posted March 16, 2006 I have most of the Missouri Valley conference teams winning a game or two, possibly three. Vastly underrated conference, solid teams, high RPI numbers.
donhaas 18 Posted March 16, 2006 Wisconsin, Marquette, and UW-Milwaukee in the Elite 8 HTH
