TNG was better than the original Star Trek, in my admittedly humble opinion.

Agreed

TNG > Voyager > DS9 > Star Trek > Enterprise

That's pretty nice. I normally buy my computers from the referbished site because you can get some great deals if you pay attention.

TNG said she wanted a new one and when I saw they were having dells today on 3 of them I thought I would throw that out there for her.

What are you using it for?

Mainly just surfing around...

Aside from that, some work usage (spreadsheets and stuff), photos from my digital camera, and also my IPod stuff.

I generally don't play games on a PC; prefer consoles for.

Then that's perfect for you. Do you have Word, excel and all that other crap? I can send you 2000 if you need it.

I have a friend with all that stuff so I should be good to go. Thanks.

My last notebook was a dell I bought 2 years ago for $150. It lasted up until about a month ago when it crashed completely. It was time for something new anyway.

Cdub, thanks for the info!!!

bigmarc, that's the one that my hubby was suggesting that I get, too. We are still talking about it/researching. I will probably go with a Dell just becuase I don't kow of ANYONE who's had problems with them. We've owned a few HP's in the last few years, and there always seems to be problems with them. HUbby's desktop PC is a Dell, and it's been great to him.

Seems a bit pricey for the options cdub2.0 listed.

I do agree with Dan. I myself haven't done any research on these laptops so they could be bad deals.
