OB1 33 Posted June 4, 2004 I thought we needed a new thread, though the other one has hilarity abound from grandpahoo and others. Maybe it's because I'm a Jet fan, but I have this thing with Brady, I just don't think he'll be a fantasy star. Reliable to be sure, but I don't think we'll see 28+ TDs again from him. Mark Buffington 3 Posted June 4, 2004 Brady is better than Pennington. HTH!
OB1 33 Posted June 4, 2004 Brady is better than Pennington. HTH! The jury is still out on that one my friend. Though i'll give you the fact that he has accomplished a ton more in their short careers. BTW, as much as I love Chad, i'm not sure he'll ever be the monster fantasy QB either. I think he and Brady are much better NFL QBs then they are fantasy number guys. Mark Buffington 3 Posted June 4, 2004 I hemmed and hawed at this one. I really wanted to go WR there, but I didn't want to get stuck at the end of a QB run, much like I got stuck at the end of the last RB run. Brady isn't spectacular, but I like him. Are they going to pound it in more with Dillon, or is the passing game going to open up a little more??? We'll see...
Mark Buffington 3 Posted June 4, 2004 Also, ALSO! The majority of the guys who select after me are without a QB yet, so it was somewhat calculated.

The majority of the guys who select after me are without a QB yet, so it was somewhat calculated. Which is precisely why I picked Hasselbeck. That is who I was going to take. In my mind, he is the last of the top 5 - since I couldn't get him, I reverted to type.
Farmer Bernie 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I really wanted Leftwich and was getting a bit nervous about him being taken before my pick - so I made the move. Maybe it was a little paniced, but I fired up about getting my guy
Orgazmo 2 Posted June 4, 2004 This draft is a continuous series of kicks to the balls. That is all.
Call me...Tim? 0 Posted June 4, 2004 This draft is a continuous series of kicks to the balls. That is all. Agreed since I was follishly hoping to pull him next round. I have not yet gauged correctly how any round would go. I have been frustrated and forced to shift gears each round form 2 on.

I have not yet gauged correctly how any round would go. I have been frustrated and forced to shift gears each round form 2 on. In round 2 I had planned on taking K.Jones all along. I saw Harrison sitting there and couldn't pass him up. i figured I could trade to get into position to take Jones a few picks later, while gaining a pick or two along the way. I was wrong about that, and just about everything i've 'tried' to do since. I think I've made good selections at each spot, but my 'plans A, B, and C are all long out the window. grandpahoo 9 Posted June 4, 2004 Is it just me, or is Bulger a better fantasy football qb than two (and maybe three) of the guys taken earlier this round? Also, fock you all for taking ALL of the guys I had targeted here.

Wilzone 0 Posted June 5, 2004 I just got a call from wilzone and I have a <brief> list. I should be around tonight and I actually may be around during the day tomorrow. If the brief list is still in working order when it gets to my pick, you still have my permission to make that pick for me, jgalt, since I may not be around tomorrow. I should have a better idea of tomorrow's plans later tonight/early tomorrow morning.

Scooby 0 Posted June 5, 2004 I wanted to move up and get Pennington but am very happy to get Brooks. Yes I know I also have Duece, but with Brooks weapons, he should put up very good numbers and is still very young!!

OB1 33 Posted June 5, 2004 Anyone have a number for ICEMAN? I was hoping to pick 6.2 before this afternoon... No comment on your team name and password? Did you get your league invite? Focker. A good friend of mine went to UVA and goes back for every home football game. He and his wife just adopted an adorable 15 month old Guatemalan boy. He came to one of our company softball games with Daniel (the son's name) and he was wearing a UVA hat. I said, "So the kid already knows where he is going to college?" My buddy repleid: "Are you kidding, first thing I did when we got him was have UVA tatooed on his ass!" Later he said that his wife was pissed at him for going to play golf the weekend before and she told him. "Fine, go play, but when Daniel's first words are 'GO TECH!', you'll know why!" That's focking awesome. I've already told my wife that, in the event that we decide to have kids, I will do everything in my power to force them to go to UVa. I just focking love that place. Yeah, most people either love or hate that place. The biggest problem is that a lot, if not most, of the people who go there act like it is the best school in the country. I think I've finally grown out of that stage. Of course, my wife just bought me a ping pong table for my 35th birthday so my idiot friends and I can play beer pong in our backyard when we're tailgating before Ravens games, so the idea that I've grown out of anything is kind of absurd. No i'm still with the girl in the picture! This was another hottie that really focked me up, or actually, that I really focked myself up over. We dated for 3-4 years, almost all of which she was away at UVA for. Being a Rutgers student, I did feel that a lot of the people there were pretty full of themselves and their school, but there were some really cool people too, and the campus is top notch. Anyway, form 94-96 I think I spent as much time at UVA as I did at Rutgers, which is one of the reasons I didn't do so hot in college, and ran up so much debt. Oh well, it all worked out in the end. I have a great girl now and i'm back on track.
grandpahoo 9 Posted June 5, 2004 Anyway, form 94-96 I think I spent as much time at UVA as I did at Rutgers We almost overlapped - I was there 1987-1991 and 1997-2000. Thank god you're still with the GTG chick. She's smoking.
