Where are you football scooter? (What the hell is a football scooter anyway? A scooter you only ride to football or a scooter that is used to play football? Not hatin, just wondering...) The other draft is in round seven. I haven't looked at their picks but i suspect they are skipping rounds just to make us look bad.
SoloMatisse 0 Posted June 21, 2006 hey guys, Im gonna be leaving town for the next 6 months.........if one of you wouldnt mind drafting the rest of my team and putting in a starting lineup every Sunday for me, I sure would appreciate it. I wont be gone long though, just half a year. I was kindof hoping to have this thing wrapped up by Tuesday because Im going to be moving next weekend, then Ill be taking a vacation right after I get back from some hellacious meetings and at night of course I have to put the kids to bed. But Ill be back sometime in mid December, so if you dont mind, Ill just leave this draft list with someone so these picks can be made, and as far as the starting lineups go......just use your best judgement whoever ends up with the team. I really felt the need to check in and atleast tell you guys ' cause I do feel communication is important, but if this is gonna be a problem, I mean............................................................................ ................................................................................ ................................................................................ ................................................................................ ..............................somebody please shoot me already!@ the nightmare draft continues...................... football_scooter 0 Posted June 21, 2006 you can all bite me. lol sorry - sincerely - I gave you head's up. I am in hell at work right now. 4 projects all coming to fruition all at the same time and I am in charge. I needed some slack today and I appreciate it. I am not NEARLY even remotely focking close to some of you lagging bastehds, so save it. I might just use my full 12 hours now since you talked a bunch of shiat. ok, no - but I did just get home and I need to think about my selection for a moment. The only time I spent on this today was when I posted a courtesy head's up. As for the nightmare, don't look at me. This is my 1st tardy pick. I'm the one who keeps saying we need to set aside a night where we'll all be on. Picking in a few....so hold your water. Where are you football scooter? (What the hell is a football scooter anyway? A scooter you only ride to football or a scooter that is used to play football? Not hatin, just wondering...) my nickname has been "Scooter" since I was 9. I played baseball a lot when I was a kid, and so at a sports-discussion site I moderate, my handle is "baseballscooter" - it seemed only natural to be "football Scooter" here. I know - not very exciting. hth
Rye & Leaf 0 Posted June 21, 2006 I know - not very exciting. Oh well. Trent, eh? Wanna splain that one? I picked Lee because he plays on a local team.
Steel City Blues 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Oh well. Trent, eh? Wanna splain that one? Let me esplain...No that would take too long. Let me sum up...
football_scooter 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Oh well. Trent, eh? Wanna splain that one? Quick: of all the QBs picked so far, which are likely to top 4000 yards and 20 TDs? I count one plus TGreen. And I have this hunch LJ will get a few more receiving TDs in a full season in that offense & Green will be the beneficiary. Always underrated, and in this league of sharks, I figured some of you might be tempted to look at some stats. I'd rather be in the middle of a run than at the tail end. I wanted a QB here anyway, but Eli was my real target...run started earlier than I expected. Either way, I am happy for the potential of 4000+ and 20-25 TDs. KC's defense is improving, but not good enough to keep them from having to throw the ball. Can't say that for some of the QBs left. And another thing I love about Trent: other than his lost injury season, he's been very reliable/durable. Oh yeah - and I thought I read something about a contract season. He's a reach here, but not by much - I'd say by about 8 picks, and I wasn't sure he wouldn't go at the turn. If not, then doh! But I didn't want to take that chance. QB TGreen RB1 Portis RB2 FWParker WR1 CJohnson WR2 AJohnson TE1 TGonz I really like this team so far. Solid veteran talent, upside young-ens...Time will tell... Rye & Leaf 0 Posted June 21, 2006 QB TGreenRB1 Portis RB2 FWParker WR1 CJohnson WR2 AJohnson TE1 TGonz Yeah, looks good so far. They all look good in the preseason, well most of them. I owned Green in a league last year and I am jaded because I caught him on an off year. To his credit, though he starts slow every year, he always finishes strong. Ace08 11 Posted June 21, 2006 Go Dallas - Here is a story about tonights NBA finals - - Eric Dampier © for the Mavs played at Miss. ST. - - My wife (girlfriend then) and I both went to Miss state. Ran into him several times at clubs and weight room. He kept asking my wife to break up with that tennis boy and go out with him! Calling her at work and just harrassing. So in the end my wife gave up a 12" black mega d!ck and Millions of NBA loot (he was a 1st round pick in '94,95 it's been a while) for me and my Big Joc Strap and this simple life! Goodnight, sweet dreams, see you next year. Let's go heat.....I'll be at the parade next week b1tches!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dwayne Wade is the second coming. I love the fact we closed this out on Crybaby Cuban's own home court. Go cry to your momma fool.
jocstrap 8 Posted June 21, 2006 Man I was going to take Evans with that next pick! Oh well I was pretty excited with the wr that were still left on the board. Stallworth and Bennett are solid picks. Nothing fancy but solid. Rb's - - - check Wr's - - - check qb - 0 te - 0 def - 0 kick -

ellisonb11 0 Posted June 21, 2006 solo i think ur a lucky man to have bulger this late....he could definitely save ur team. i was about to pee my pants and i wouldve took him in a second if he fell to me. this could turn ur team around, because hes on a powerful offensive team. even with a new coach and a more run mentality, he still has weapons to put up good numbers. good pick! Damn you scooter - - I knew he wouldn't make it back around, but I just could not take my #4 rb by 7.1 no way. I plotted out wr/rb and wr/wr for those two picks and I can live better with myself with the wr/wr combo. I was pretty happy to get a team's #1 receiver in Bennett as my #4 wr. Granted there should be a huge decrease of value in the rb category 23 picks from now
Sweetness_34 0 Posted June 21, 2006 We should just stop this draft right now and call the cops because this team is gonna destroy you punks Carson Palmer Edge James Jamal Lewis Torry Holt Rod Smith Todd Heap Ron Dayne as flex Are you focking kidding me? My team has weapons that could lead to a top 5 (and in some cases top 3) QB, RB, WR and TE You are all so focked.

I nearly took him over TGreen, but the change in coaching/emphasis on the run, combined with Bulger's lack of reliability 3 straight seasons had me skittish. I think there are better options still on the board at QB.

football_scooter 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Oh and Kansas City is not going to emphasize the run with Hermy there oooooops of course they will - and they will also continue with the same playbook which includes screens to the RB. And Herm loves using his TEs. Tried to trade for one in NY, and he was a bust. TGreen has always been apart of a heavy run offense - and Edwards will utilize him as well he should. Green's going to get his 4000, and 20 - anything on top of that is a bonus, IMO. And as mentioned - that shoulder, and Bulgers inability to stay on the field kills his potential value, IMO. I'd make this choice every day of the week & twice on Sunday.

Lets say we give 1000 yards to Kennison, who hashad 2 1000 yards seasons the past 2 years... Parker got 500 yards last year....even if he improves on that and gets 700 to 800..... Priest used to help a lot for Trent getting to 4000, now with Priest (almost) gone, I doubt it.

jocstrap 8 Posted June 22, 2006 Jocstrap just looking for an update. Nope, nothing has happened. It takes a long time before picks come back around sitting in the 1st or 12th position. Man I wish I was the 6th or 7th pick - - Yea right! However, in this draft I'm thinking the #3 hole has some good picks going.

Terrible - let's meet online this Saturday or Sunday morning and DO IT ALREADY! We could kick out 5 or 6 rounds in under an hour if we're all here. This is realy ridiculous. oldguru 0 Posted June 22, 2006 I have enjoyed watching your draft for bragging rights unfold. Your draft rules and policy are none of my business. *However, I must say that it seems extremely inconsiderate to exceed the 12 hour time limit set up and agreed to at the beginning of your draft. It would appear to me that it would only be a common courtesy to the other league members to make your picks within the allotted time, or send some outside party your picks to make for you.
