ellisonb11 0 Posted July 24, 2006 Well, u saw my QB ranks, and now its time for my RB ranks. this is based on PPR, and 1 pt per 10 yds rushing and receving, 6 pts per TD, -2 for fumbles....lets do it. Running Backs 1. Larry Johnson- too much upside IMO to pass up. the guy put up phenom stats and he didnt play a whole season. The Chiefs are dedicated to the run, and will be dedicated to LJ. 2. Ladainian Tomlinson- what?? LT ahead of Shaun Ally? this guy must be crazy! well i dont think so... Its a PPR league, and with a developing Rivers, LT will be catching plenty of the balls out of the backfield to boost rivers' confidence, and just to gain the short yardage they need. The chargers will rely on LT to put the ball in the endzone. 3. Shaun Alexander- i would love the 3 spot in a league this year, just because u dont have to make a hard decision on who to draft in the 1st round, u just take who is left. Hutch is gone, and im a sucker for the madden curse, and the superbowl losing hangover. LT will catch more out of the backfield than Shaun Ally, so i gave LT the edge over SA. i would just be happy to grab any of these players in the top 3. 4. Clinton Portis- new weapons on the redskins offense will open up the running game for CP. Al saunders will run this guy to death if he has to... 5. Tiki Barber- this guy has to break down soon, but not this year. he catches a lot of balls out of the backfield, and is on a solid offensive team. The only thing that worries me is his tough schedule. 6. Edgerrin James- hes on another electric offensive team, but this time, the team has a bad o-line. boldin and fitz will open up the run for edge, and will get a solid amount of receptions 7. Ronnie Brown- this is the breakout player of the year. he gets all the carries this year, and the opposing teams will have to respect the deep ball with chambers and cpepp there, so i see a great season from ronnie this year. 8. Lamont Jordan- he caught 70 balls last year, and this year he is with a coach that loves to pound the ball down the field. Art shell will use jordan wonderfully, and jordan is a solid #1 in a PPR league. 9. Stephen Jackson- im not as high on him as others are, but he should be a solid guy this year. without the pass happy martz, he will be getting all the carries he can handle. Linehan will use 2 TE sets, which will be more of a non martz, balanced attack. i like sjax this year. 10. Rudi Johnson- he should be higher, but he rarely catches balls out of the backfield. he is usually good for a solid 100 and 1 TD or maybe 2....but maybe 1 reception. hes on a fast moving offense that gets down to the goaline where rudi can punch it in. safe bet as a #1. 11. Brian Westbrook- its a gamble, but when healthy, westy is the man. he will be the primary target in the passing game this year on the eagles, but the question is, can he stay healthy? we can only hope. he catches many balls, and is a risky but high upside #1. 12. Cadillac Williams- solid RB here, just worried that he will breakdown again. the kid is skilled, but doesnt get many receptions...be sure to get pittman, and he is a great RB #1. 13. Willis Mcgahee- he will be the only offense on the bills this year, and will rely on him to get them down the field. he is a risky #1, but a solid #2. 14. Dominack Davis- he is on my Do not Draft List this year, but in a PPR league, u have to consider him. his knee scares the crap out me, so i wouldnt draft him, but when healthy, he is a great weapon. 15. Willie Parker- pretty high for FWP this year, but hes on a run-first offense, and will be a solid #2 this year, dont grab him too early, try to wait for him this year, maybe grab him in the 3rd round. 16. Julius Jones- risk/reward pick here, but he has alot of upside. im afraid of MBIII, cuz parcells loves him. But, he could be solid, but if he gets injured, ur season could be done...if u draft him, u must draft MBIII. 17. Chestor Taylor- he will get lots of catches this year, and is behind a re-tooled o-line in minnesota. a solid #2 RB this year, he will be able to find whole with one of the best FBs in front of him. 18. Reuben Droughns- oline has gotten a little better, and the browns know they must utilize the running game to be successful. Droughns is a good #2 to have in the mid 3rd round. 19. Warrick Dunn- always underrated, and this year people are drafting him higher. i would snatch him in the mid to late 3rd round if he was there. 20. Kevin Jones- i got burnt by him last year, not so high on him this year. i just dont buy that he will be getting more carries until i see it..ill pass on him this year. risky #2 RB, take ur chances if u wish. 21. Jamal Lewis- could surprise people this year, but who knows what will go on if he doesnt produce one game, and mike anderson gets into the mix... who knows, if u take him as a #2, hopefully u have solid WRs to back ur team up. 22. Deshaun Foster- could be great, but his injury problems concern me. if he gets knicked up once, it could be the deangelo williams show. The Rest of the Bunch 23. Corey Dillon 24. Reggie Bush 25. Thomas Jones 26. Joseph Addai 27. Tatum bell 28. Duece Mcallister 29. Cedric Benson 30. Frank Gore 31. Fred Taylor 32. Curtis Martin 33. Chris Brown 34. Ahman Green ok, give me ur comments please!! Zackattack 0 Posted July 24, 2006 We match up RB by RB on our ranking sheets. -------------------- Why don't you just get on your knees now for him. This list looks alot like everyone elses. I am not trying to say it sucks but no real risky picks early here.
Ilov80s 0 Posted July 24, 2006 - Brown is high for a guy who has never been a feature back at the pro or college level. If he had received 300 carries last year, he would of only rushed for 5 TDs. Thats puzzling to me. He has elite skills, but is too risky at #7. - Caddy's injury concerns really scare me. Over his last 5 seasons of football, he has suffered serious injuries in 3 of them. I love him when healthy, but I just can't commit to making him a #1 back. - McGahee is also too high. The only thing that changed in Buffalo is they lost their best veteran playmaker. Also McGahee doesn't catch any balls. I don't see him finding the endzone very often. - Corey Dillon's ranking puzzles me. I just can't understand how you (and nearly everyone else) has him behind 3 guys who have spent more time nursing injuries then playing football (Jones, Jones, and Foster). jocstrap 8 Posted July 24, 2006 Good list I think you are right on it - Denver has one of the highest team rushing totals yet Tatum is #25+ - do you think bell or dayne have a chance to be a top 15er? Or is their rushing attack going to be sub par with anderson gone this year?
Da Bomb 0 Posted July 24, 2006 sorry but i just dont see much to comment on here. this could have been taken straight out of a fantasy mag. about as generic as they come imo.

Why don't you go play in traffic and do your family a favor. Besides the big 3 I have seen many different variations on the list down to say #15.

You just said you matched him up and down the board. The top 6-7 on his list look like everyone elses. Is this wrong well no maybe not but why post it? So you can bring attention to yourself is the answer. hey check out my post guys. how do you like my list of running backs? I just commented that you were busy slobbering over his knob based on his generic list.

PS- im glad ur family loves u.
Zackattack 0 Posted July 24, 2006 Ellison this was at matt333 more than you. He was all over you for your list. I was mentioning him on his knees for you based on those picks. Are they bad picks no not at all. Just somewhat generic in my opinion. I think most top 10's are similair any way. I might get risky and pick Addai to break out in the top 10-15 otherwise that is about it.
Mack 1 6 Posted July 24, 2006 Why don't you go play in traffic and do your family a favor. Funny shiat. I'm not sure why people criticize others for their rankings. It's mostly a personal thing; whoever one likes over another shouldn't be too big a deal to someone else.
mattb333 0 Posted July 24, 2006 So according to Zack is translated as "on his knob". Zack must just be angry because a girl has not been since mama was wiping it clean after he sh!t his diaper. I will say again, beside the top 3 I have seen a plethora, superfluous amounts of variations in RB rankings. THis was a good post with good comments backing up his rankings. Besides the fact that there has been who knows how many threads about RB rankings, so I wonder if you posted on all of them ciricizing that they came right from a magazine or FF website. SoloMatisse 0 Posted July 24, 2006 El- My critique is 2 of those top 5 wont end up there. So go ahead and pull a couple of them. Drop SA down to 7 or 9....go with the Madden jinx theory/Superbowl loser phenomena. Portis is being hyped a ton too because he has a new O coordinator, but the second that old a@# QB goes down, he'll be worthless. And Tiki is falling off this year, I dont care what anyone says. Every back hits a statistical peak, and last year was his. That Giants schedule is brutal, and Barber will gain about 6 or 700 total yds less than last year. Get those guys out of your top 5 already and shake it up. Throw Ced Benson in the top 10...he's as good a pure runner as any guy in the league.....noone else will see that coming but you......and ME!...... I like your enthusiasm, my good man. Dont sweat the peanut gallery.....
