texasmouth 1 Posted July 29, 2006 Good, maybe he will sit out a lot of camp now so he wont get injured. This is no big deal, happens to a lot of guys early in camp.

BREWSTER_MIL 0 Posted July 30, 2006 lots of people are saying that S. Smith should be the first wr drafted. I say go ahead and take him. Hes not the best, or most consistent wr out there. and hes been injured before. (remember) these things come in threes. A sign of things to come. he will never put up the numbers he had last year................ not with me-shawn around go ahead and bash me

If you dont want to draft Smith than fine, leave him for me. I'll take him

If you dont want to draft Smith than fine, leave him for me. I'll take him Nope, ive been in a coma! Look at last year, it was the S. Smith show. No other wr's to throw to, no te to throw to, no rb to throw to. Im not saying me-shawn will be the #1 wr in Carolina. Im just saying the offense has someone else to throw the ball to. D. Foster is finally healthy. ( for how long?) but healthy So go ahead, pick him at the end of round 1, or beginning of round 2 and leave me with Holt!!! ElvisMcCoy 0 Posted July 30, 2006 Local news played it down as a minor ham pull as well. BUT said he was carted off the field??? I've had minor hamstring pulls. I didn't need to be carted off the field. I suppose they are just playing it safe. If I were Carolina management I'd hire a guy to baby powder his arse after a sh!t. As a side note: Keysuck is saying all the right things to the media about him & Smith getting along and not competing about who is the better WR. When asked about the Smith / Keysuck WR situation Dellhome said he was not there to try to make guys happy. He said winning makes people happy and that's what he plans on doing. 49ER MAN 0 Posted July 30, 2006 I've seen a fair amount of magazines hype Smith to be the no.1 WR again this year and I think it's possible but to me Keyshawn will take some away plus Carolina wants to run the ball more as well. To me, there are about 10 WR's who have a chance to be the no.1 FF WR and it won't be me paying $35 or more in my 12 team auction league.
esoitl 0 Posted July 30, 2006 Local news played it down as a minor ham pull as well.BUT said he was carted off the field??? I've had minor hamstring pulls. I didn't need to be carted off the field. thats what im curious about Brown and Taylor were at least able t owalk off the field so i feel confident that they can make a full recovery and be fine for the season but being carted off doesn't sound very promising i read that he hauled up limping then went to the ground and stayed there sounds pretty serious to me, could be a partial tear or one of those lingering injuries you never want to see could very well hurt his deep presence
adam smitty 0 Posted July 30, 2006 Not good news, this will deffinitely be something to watch for updates on in the next couple weeks.
The Moz 71 Posted July 30, 2006 I own Smitty in a few leagues and while I am concerned I think he is okay. If he tore it he woulda been screaming in pain which he wasn't . Still this is an injury that will require him to rest for a month to make sure hes alright for the start of the season whic could actually be a good thing as he wouldn't rish some other dumbassed TC injury. With this news I move smith in my rankings from #2 to # 6 -- TO, Holt, Moss, Fitz, CJ,SMITH, Harrison, Boldin . right now I would put Smith as a late 2nd rounder still but nolonger a first rounder early second. Smith has a history of Hammys though and he usually seems to be able to fight through it and perform well. I mean hell he came back from a shattered leg and tore it up last season ! Some people can come back from a hammy and be great some people - cough joe horn Cough .
De Novo 0 Posted July 30, 2006 plus Carolina wants to run the ball more as well Doesn't every coach say this every offseason. I don't think carries have been up every year since the beginning of time.
ElvisMcCoy 0 Posted July 30, 2006 I am heading down to SC next wek to watch camp. I'm anxious to see if Smith is going to rest that hammy for the rest of TC or if he is out there trying to work it out.

Raider 84 29 Posted July 30, 2006 He also strained his hammy in June. Now he strained it the first day of camp. Not a good sign. Isaac Bruce was hit and miss for two seasons when he had hammy problems. Hopefully this isnt an on going problem for Smith.
RicemanX 20 Posted July 30, 2006 hmmm...I remember drafting him 2 years ago when he got hurt. That is still haunting me and this scares me.
