FlaHawker 24 Posted August 3, 2006 I took Westy last year at the top of the second round in a re-draft league and took some heat for the pick because of his injury history. However, in looking back on his game by game stats,he was stud last year and I want to take him agian this year because our league has switched to a ppr keeper league. Last year Westy put up 16, 13, 32, 6 9, 15, 7, 17, 11, 19, and 4 before he was done for the year, which is about 13.5 points per game. Here is the question: Can he stay healthy or his he doomed to injury every year because of his injury history? Does anyone know of a player that had some injury problems and then was able to turn the corner and stay healthy? Westy is a fantasy stud. Fortunately most of the guys in my league don't like him. I just wished I knew my draft position. I'm thinking of going RB,RB,and RB with my first three picks. I would love to nab Westy in the second and Bush in the 3rd to go along with one of the top 8/9 guys mentioned for the first round. Rock on Westy

He's almost as explosive as DomDavis, but he's conditions are chronic like DD's knee. Westy usually gets some obscure injury. If he stays healthy, I think he's a beast. Striker99 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I managed to get LaMont and Westbrook and I'm really happy with my backs. I think he'll be a top 12 RB at the end of the season.
Churchill610 0 Posted August 3, 2006 "Stud" I'm not buying, but he's absolutely a high-quality back that I'd be happy to have as a #2 RB.
lickin_starfish 1,893 Posted August 3, 2006 McNabb is the best running back that Philly has.
TimmySmith 2,782 Posted August 3, 2006 2005 He played 12 games, 5 of which were pretty darn bad. 2004 He played 13 games, 4 of which were bad. So 32 possible games, 25 played, 16 he scored fairly good to very good. A 50% showing for a #2 RB isn't confidence building. He's a flex player, and a spot starter. A PPR league is a different story. deejsixer 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I'm in a father/son Fantasy league. Only $25 per team and my son really wants TO in the first, so I am coming back with Westy in the 2nd. We have the 8th overall pick in a 10 teamer. I see no difference between him and the backs I should take at #8 overall (Brown, Jackson, etc...). By the way it is a PPR league

akaoni 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I agree that especially in PPR leagues (mine's .5) Westbrook's an undervalued back...or at least he has been. Somehow, last year he slipped to me in the 4th (10 team league) and he helped me cover a bad draft in the first two rounds (J. Lewis and C. Dillon). I don't know my draft spot yet, but I'll take him late 2nd, then try to pick another under ratedback in the 4th. ...no Jamal not you, stop tempting me! Force of Two 0 Posted August 3, 2006 Westbrook is a guy you want to get but never want to freeze. He can easily put up 100-125 combined yards most weeks and can score 8-10x per year. I like him as a #2 or as great flex or #3 (you will likely never get him as a #3)
Drews Crew 0 Posted August 3, 2006 I have the 2nd pick in a 10 teamer, and think that Westbrook might come back to me with the 19th pick. If so, after reading this post, I should grab him. Then grab a WR with the 22nd pick. Stay Healthy WESTBROOK!!!

If I can parlay Westy (2) along with Bush (3) and maybe a Tiki, SJAX a or R Brown in the first, my RB position will be sweet!

Funny...this is exactly the scenario I hope to land in my PPR league...pick #7. Jordan/Westbrook is a nice combo in PPR. Follow it up with a solid WR in 3rd....on my way to a good team. Mile High Drunk 13 Posted August 4, 2006 I think Westbrook just got hurt putting on his helmet. A little more hopeful then DD though who got hurt and will miss three weeks after putting on his sock.
chris_dub 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Westy fell to me at the bottom of the 2nd in a 12 teamer Dynasty league. I took LJ 3rd overall, then Westy & Dillon in the 6th to form a nice little 1-2-3 core of backs. It's a PPR league, so I'm hoping Westy can put up some nice numbers for me.
