BiPolarBear 476 Posted April 5, 2013 Have any of you goofs ever seen a tomato worm? That is the large catapillar that you find on tomato plants. Anyway, that is the larval stage of a hummingbird. HTH

You learn something new every day. That's the one. It also is known as a hornworm because of the spike it has pointing up on its rear end. More knowledgable types just call it a baby hummingbird. SUXBNME 1,348 Posted March 3, 2015 convergent evolution sux my boy. they are big words but they do explain what we have here. stilllll a hawkmoth and they trap line so you can be sure to see them around the same time every day if you see one feeding.........the more you know In evolutionary biology, convergent evolution is the process whereby organisms not closely related (hummingbirds and hawk moths), independently evolve similar traits as a result of having to adapt to similar environments or ecological niches. So your are finally admitting it was a hummingbird. This is a step in the right direction for you. Who says that one can't regenerate dead brain cells? Giants Fan 85 Posted March 3, 2015 egg tomato worm cocoon hummingbird. You spelled "Racoon" wrong. And that's ridiculous, thinking that racoons turn into hummingbirds, or that one living creature could turn into something else. It's just the larval stage. Tomato worm is a baby hummingbird, just hasn't grown wings and feathers and stuff.
