desertfire 4 Posted August 25, 2006 D. Williams looks pretty dang good. As far as Ronnie Brown goes, he looks like crap, especially with him being a top 7 pick in most leagues. To me Brown is a 2nd round back.

Fumbleweed 516 Posted August 25, 2006 Brown is running vs. the brick wall that is Carolina's first string run defense. Williams is running against second-stringers. HTH.
Rynoman 0 Posted August 25, 2006 To brown's credit he's been making people miss all night long...the problem is he's making people miss in the backfield just so he can get to the line of scrimmage

desertfire 4 Posted August 25, 2006 Ronnie Brown runs to timid. He doesn't hit the hole! As far as Williams goes, that 98 yrd return was against the first team and when running the ball, he runs with a ton more confidence than Brown.

adam smitty 0 Posted August 25, 2006 Its Miami's run blocking that's looking bad. Brown really has nothing to work with. I'm not too concerned yet because everyone has problems against Carolina.

RBs need a good Oline, so where does Miami's oline rank? The last couple games I have seen with the first team, Culpepper and Brown have ran for their life. Their line isnt great, but its not any worse than it was last year in fact its probably a little better.
Mack 1 6 Posted August 25, 2006 You people are idiots. Ronnie Brown is a stud Egg-zack-lee. Some of these airheads take one half of football during the preseason and make blanket statements about, "oh such and such sucks," or "such is such looks really good." Complete idiocy. The defense (first, second, third, etc) wasn't on the field. In fact, that special teams was mostly made up of guys trying to just make the team. First team defense? That's pretty funny. That's pretty funny. while i do not agree with the guy who started this topic (i think brown is still great), the kickoff return by williams was not against guys mianly fighting to make the team. also, i like the way williams ran against miami's first string D and second string D.... www.kyleortonfans.com 0 Posted August 25, 2006 I can't believe 600 people have read this dynamic conversation. Brown is the pick here. I liked him from 5-13, honestly I would feel comfortable taking him at the 5 spot in a kepper league and possibly in a re-draft. He fell to me at 9 in a 14 team redraft and i was stoked to get him. Should be nice this year. With the addition of Davis (who i picked up in the 15th, lol) Jackson didn't look as wonderful, and Rudi was out of the question. Interesting picks 5 through...umm.. 13. Rock.
yanivsme 0 Posted August 25, 2006 I have brown this year as my keeper and i only lose a 4th rd pick for him, im pretty pumped but at the same time i think hes gonna lead the league in fumbles. I remember last year he lost a game becasue he fumbled in the red zone becasue he does that damn spin move sooooo much, he spins into a blind side tackle alot. Plus remember that browns sucess comes with good qb play and culpepper has to be the man where ever he plays so im a little worried that culpepper and chambers might be the 1-2 punch....just my thoughts

SoloMatisse 0 Posted August 25, 2006 dont hit the panic button with Ron Brown. sure hes struggled so far in the preseason. look who he's played....Tampa, Jacksonville and Carolina....whose records were a combined 34-14 last year, each with one of the best Ds in the league. Carolina's Dline is probably the best in the league. dont sweat it. He wont see the Panthers in the reg season. he'll play Jax again in wk 10. I wouldnt sweat them. If anything, playing this tough preseason schedule and struggling a bit is good for people looking at Brown because it'll hopefully lower his draft position to the point where he's actually a value............
