Vick

is there a Mike Vick bandwagon this year? If so, is anyone on it?

If you are, why are you? what makes you think he can turn it around this season?

or

has his fantasy ship sailed for the last time and no one likes him at all?

I can see grabbing him as a #2 but he'll never slip that far, someone will always take the chance.

I have him as a #2 and would like to drop him to make room on my BN, but I know someone will pick him up and stash him away. I prefer to be the one stashing him away, in the event he learns how to throw. So even if I never use him, I feel comfortable knowing I have him there if I need him. Am I on a bandwagon? No, he's my #2. Would I drop him? I'd consider it all season. Would I trade him? Sure.

His bandwagon is like a car on a used lot. Still in good shape, but a couple of years old. The newer sleak Reggie Bush bandwagon is shiny and has leather interior.

Slight upgrade since TJ's gone. The rushing TDs will now be split between Dunn and Vick primarily with the rookie in from time to time. Good QB2 but nothing to reach too far for.

I am.I think he had his worst season last year. And with the addition of Lelie and the subtraction of TJ Duck and Peerless he has a better year. Then again I still envision the 100 yard 3 TD rushing game against Minn a couple of years ago.

Every year I say this, and this year it's true: Vick is a bargain anywhere past the 7th round.

I got him as a QB2 in the 10th round in my main money league.

In the past he was overhyped and overrated as a fantasy QB. He always finished top 10 in my scoring system (all TDs 6), and in leagues with 4 pt Pa and 6 pt Ru, he's a top 8 QB.

That said, people in my league were reaching for him as the next great FFB player in the 2nd (2.01 3 years back), 3rd (3.05 2 years ago) and 4th (4.02 last year) - all poor value, as one can get a comparable QB in the 10th round.

This year Vick's ADP has finally come full circle to the point where he's an outstanding value in the 10th round as a QB2. The 1 week I need him he happens to be playing NO on Monday Night Football. Should be a jackpot start.

And if he ever does truly put it all together, he could be an incredible player - I don't personally think that will happen, but in my league we have 5 point bonuses for 100+ RuYd. Vick in the 10th is a steal.

Not on the bandwagon, per say, but definately high on his value this year. :first:

Why do I get the feeling that the people that were on the Vick bandwagon 4 - 5 years ago are the same people on the Bush bandwagon right now?

Wrong!

I'm not in the bushwagon. His worst year was in 2003, which is also his first year in WCO. If he can repeat or do just a tad better this season, he'll finish in the top 10 with a possibility of top 6 this season.

Yes there is a Vick bandwagon. It is out behind the barn and all the wheels have fallen off from all people who jumped on it last year.

No I was never on that bankwagon, but I am on the Bush bandwagon.

Even though I am a Falcon/ Vick fan, this is the first year I've been on his bandwagon for FF. This is mostly due to the excellent draft value he represents. In my league (1pt/ 25 pass yds, 1pt/ 10 rushyds, 6pts./ all TDs) I am projecting him as the 2nd best QB based on: 2800 yds pass (400 yd improvement over last year - when he missed essentially 2 games), 650 yds rushing (610 last year), 20 TDs pass (15 last year, 3rd year in system, Duckett gone) and 6 rush TD (3 last year, Duckett gone). This projection equates to 297 pts....42 behind Peyton (who I selected at 2.04 in a 10 team league).

I drafted Vick at 11.07 b/c everyone is scared of drafting him now. Based on my projections, I felt like it was excellent value. Even if I didn't get Peyton, I was prepared to draft Vick as my #1 in Rd 9 and then pick a solid #2 in Rd. 11 or so. At that point in the draft, you should be evaluating the risk/ reward factor more heavily anyway.

I also got him as a QB#2 for my bench (behind Warner) in the 10th round. I think it's a great value also. It's amazing how much people will avoid a player when they think he's overrated. They go from overrating him to completely underrating him in subsequent years.

decent value in the 11th round..... but projecting him as 2nd Best Quarterback? Did Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, Matt Hasslebeck, Trent Green, Daunte Culpepper, Donovan McNabb, Marc Bulger, Kurt Warner, Ben Roethlisberger, Jake Plummer, Jake Delhomme, Chris Simms, Mark Brunell, Eli Manning, Drew Bledsoe, and Drew Brees all retire or somethin?

Mark Brunell ? :bandana: You better check your fockin loop...

As for the Vick Bandwagon I kinda jumped on in the off-season as I dealt McNabb for Vick and a 2nd rounder in my Dynasty League... My league is 3 points for a regular passing TD with a few bonus' for longer ranged TD's, but it's 6 points per rushing TD... No ones ever given Vick a whole year to play with my scoring system, so I figured I'd give it a shot in 2006 because i couldn't look at McNabb's face anymore, and i think Vick can only improve.... Now the guy with Palmer in my league is trying to trade him for RB depth and of course I'm trying to get him so it looks as though my plan is turning elsewhere

I guess that is why I'm "on the bandwagon". Keep in mind that I'm projecting him to score the 2nd most points at his position in fantasy football...not become the 2nd best throwing QB in the NFL. Based on my scoring system and my projection (an opinion, of course) this is where I rate him.

Alot of folks have trouble differentiating between fantasy stats and actually performance on the field.

i wonder if all the vick haters realize that hes finished as a top 12 fantasy QB every full (or close to full) season hes played, and that he was the #3 QB in 2002?

So I should trade McNabb and start Vick?

Good point! But no. McNabb will have a great season. I can see it in the way he's playing in preseason.

He's been sharp like a flying dagger.

In a two QB system, Vick would be great.

In a one QB system, Vick is far to inconsistent to be an only QB on your team. QBs score too much to be inconsistent.

I'm on the Bush and Vick bandwagon this year. Shoot me.

I have Vick as my #1.......and im mulling over an offer of Vick for Rothlisberger. I know Ben isnt great in FF....but hes steady...and doesnt make many mistakes.

Think i should hol onto Vick??

(6pt td league, -2 INTS, etc)

who's your backup? I mean, as long as you have one steady performer out of 2 at the QB position, you should be OK. Vick will get his points. The hard part will be predicting when.

He went in the 13th round of our 12 team league two weeks ago. I took him in the 8th last year along with Aaron Brooks in the 9th. It cost me the Superbowl Last year....

I never was really on the bandwagon. Someone said it nicely: "Until he learns to throw...."

I got stuck w/T. Green at my starting QB so I picked up Vick as a strong #2QB. He is a hard gamble to take as a #1QB. #2 QB I feel a little better.
