mobb_deep 920 Posted September 4, 2006 My league is switching to a KEEPER this year. I've got the #2 draft spot. #1 told me he is taking LJ Who do I take SHAUN ALEXANDER OR LT2 (NO PPR) my gut says LT2 since he's 2 years younger but SA just seems like the more consistent back. When I looked ast their career totals they have a pretty much identical workload. Plus that playoff shcedule SA has makes it really tempting to grab him. Not to mention I think SEA has a much more established situation. LT2 has proven he can put up numbers regardless but Rivers is a rook afterall. I've also noticed a tendency for LT to burn out the second half of the season (he burnt me last year). All of that combined makes me lean towards SA as the smart pick. PLEASE HELP! ggroovy17 0 Posted September 4, 2006 I would go with SA because he will score more TD's. I'm a San Diego homer and am hearing that Michael Turner will be spelling LT2 more to keep him healthy. Neither choice is bad though.
Nate Burleson's Burly Son 0 Posted September 4, 2006 In a keeper, LT all day and twice on Sunday. He's a triple threat, and he's younger. Nothing wrong with SA, just my own preference.
bradhpa 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Not sure that you can go wrong either way. If you are trying to win this year, maybe SA. But I agree with the last guy, Lt is younger and you are talking about a keeper league. (Also, LT had a broken rib at the end of last year.)
waliguy 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Seattle lost Hutchinson to Minnesota in the off season. SA is going to have a tougher time this year. I'd lean toward LT this year.
mobb_deep 920 Posted September 4, 2006 BUMP. come on crew! I answered like 30 help questions last night and I get 4 replies. Don't get mad when none of us vets don't come around anymore. You guys stink! GIVE ME SOME REPLIES!
potts17 4 Posted September 4, 2006 I would say take Alexander, he's the much safer pick, he will be playing another 4-5 years and in my opinion is the best back in the league. Tomlinson has a lot of question marks on his team right now, with the news that they want to keep him fresher for later on in the year (which will mean he will be sitting a lot more than ever, not good fantasy wis). Take Alexander and his 20 td's and 1500 yds to the bank. Thanks for answering mine.
chugabrewski 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Coin flip, but like SA better, because Turner is TOOOOOOO good to sit and Morriss will sit and better team in SEA to less stop SA. thanks 4 mine.
leftyguitar 0 Posted September 4, 2006 LT definately. for all the reasons mentioned. he's younger and can get it done on all fronts. (i've had him the last 2 years and have won both seasons.) please see my DEF and RB posts: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=228107 http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=228102

Last year he didn't score a TD in the final 5 or 6 games if I remember correctly.
adanley 1 Posted September 4, 2006 I think SA is the safest choice. I had him ranked #1 overall this year. He has an easy schedule again this year too.
bradysbunch 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Just like your thinking, everyone seems split on who is a better keeper, SA or LT. I'm with the group who likes SA better. I've had LT the last two years, and he's carried me during the season but as the season progresses he seems to wear out. SA just keeps plugging along, plus like others have mentioned, he plays in a far better divison for having great numbers. Even though LT is 2 years younger, I'd go with SA. SFGeek 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Thanks for responding. I have SA, but in a keeper I'd take LT2. Good luck.
BigE47 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Either of them would be good for this year. But in a keeper I would go LT2, he can do everyting run, pass and catch.
J-Money 4 Posted September 5, 2006 Rivers isn't a rook, he's had some time to sit on the bench and learn (a la Carson Palmer). I'd take LT. He is younger so theoretically you'd get a few more years production out of him. While SA is in a weaker division, i remember hearing a lot about pork chop womack being so good last year that he wuz gonna be a starter, never materialized. I think now they are just stuck with plugging him in, gotta hate those situations. Also, i'm fairly cynical. With the combination of the madden curse, superbowl hangover curse, and losing a big piece of his o-line would worry me if i took SA. Good luck, with a top 3 pick you can't really go wrong http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=228199
unclemercy 53 Posted September 5, 2006 peace, there's no right answer... everything said's been no brainer that you knew already and for you to get steamed over lack of replies is kid stuff i'd take alexander, but whatever
FreddieMercury 0 Posted September 5, 2006 I was in almost the same position as you...1st year keeper, but I had the #3 pick. #1 went with LJ, #2 went with LT, so I got Alexander by default. But even if I had had #2, I'd have taken Alexander. LT is younger, but Alexander's relative health makes up for it. Plus, I trust Holmgren's o-line to protect more than San Diego's. Of course, if you had given me #1, I'd have taken LJ http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=228417
Toothless Grin 0 Posted September 5, 2006 I like SA just slightly over LT even in a keeper league. He just is so consistent and there isn't anything to really knock the guy about. Good schedule for running team, good QB, balanced offense and decent D.
mobb_deep 920 Posted September 5, 2006 peace, there's no right answer... everything said's been no brainer that you knew already and for you to get steamed over lack of replies is kid stuffi'd take alexander, but whatever Thanks but I'm not looking for replies from stupid n00bles like yourself anyways. I'm also not requesting your opinion on how I should conduct myself ok Dr Phil? Here's a tip, get bent! Anyone else? I'm drafting tonight!
davebg 0 Posted September 5, 2006 I think the age thing is a wash...even though LT is younger, he's prob been used more. Last yr LT wasn't a big part of the passing game (other than throwwing for a few TDs ) this year? 1st yr starter at QB...I think LT will be used as an outlet quite a bit (like before Brees had his breakout season.)
