FlaHawker 24 Posted October 3, 2006 I was down 123-99 going into last night's game, and thanks to Donovan McNabb and his monster 4 TD effort, I am now the only unbeaten team in my money league (I'm also 4-0 in a free yahoo league) and Ialso am the highest scoring team How about your 4-0 team? What has propelled you to undefeated start to this Fantasy Football season? football_scooter 0 Posted October 3, 2006 McNabb helped me overcome yet another BYE week to a 4-oh! start in my WCOFF league. I came without 40 points of my league points lead and jumped from 437th to 270-ish. Next week I have my team at full strength for the 1st time since week 2 and I'm really looking forward to catching up to some of the overall leaders in points (if all works out as hoped...) and moving up in the overall standings... McNabb Fitz/Ward/Williamson/(MJones/MBooker -bench) SJax/JJones/TBell/(LWashington/MMoore/Bryson/Fisher) Troupe/McMichael Kaeding MIA/Cinci D/ST interestingly, backups Troup and Booker have played solid roles for me and have helped to contribute during BYEs. In my local league I'm 3-1, so nothing to about - but still 1st in my division.

akaoni 0 Posted October 3, 2006 Two words: Fantasy Defense. Teams, just seem to bring their B game when they face up against me. But I'll take the 4-0 baby! Actually, I'm #2 in scoring in my league, and each week one player has stepped up to help win it for me. Week #1 Warner (on the way to the wire as we speak), Week #2 Rudi ran wild over the Cle D. Week #3 was a bit of a down week but my opponent started Dillon, Stallworth and Cotchery, and I managed to squeek through. Week #4, Bulger led the way to victory. Next week I'm not sure who's going to step up, but I face the top scoring team, so 5-0 looks a bit sketchy...

I know I'm in trouble with Stallworth's injuries right now but I got options and only play 2 more teams with winning records at this point in the season. cheeseboy 0 Posted October 5, 2006 First year playing FF (never did before because I knew the obsession it would become!) in an 8 team redraft. League that starts QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, TE, 2 W/R flex, K, and DEF. TD’s are 6, 1/completion, 1/50 yards passing, 1/reception, 1/20 receiving & rushing yards, and various points for long kicks, etc. 4-0 and leading in points with this as last week’s line up: QB – Manning (Grossman) WR – Holt, Driver, Jackson, Cotchery (Branch, Bryant) RB – Brown, Moroney (McAllister, Jones-Drew) TE – Colston (Crumpler) K – Kasay Def – Chicago One of the things that I figured out early is that the WW and mid-season moves were key. In fact, I just checked back on my draft and the core of what I wanted to do is intact (and is pretty key to my winning so far), but the difference in the last two games are the pick-ups I’ve made since then. Here was my draft: 1.2 – Manning; 2.7 – Holt; 3.2 – Driver; 4.7 – Ronnie Brown; 5.2 – Foster; 6.7 – Crumpler; 7.2 – Dillon; 8.7 – D. Jackson; 9.2 – Kasay; 10.7 – Chicago; 11.2 – New York; 12.7 – McAllister; 13.2 – Branch; 14.7 – K. Robinson; 15.2 – Warner; 16.7 – B. Johnson. The draft was solid at the top, mixed in the middle (Jackson’s been rock solid for me, Dillon & Foster weren’t bad to start with), and foolish towards the end. Some of my WW pickups have been key (Colston), some did nothing (Matt Jones never got a start), and some were one-week wonders (Cotchery last week, Reggie Brown 9 points for Week 1) and were/will be benched/dropped if I need the space. I also got offered a great trade after Week 3 of Foster for Maroney, which should be good this year. I got lucky last week when the guy I was up against had Palmer and Chad Johnson, who scored almost nothing and saved me from a close game (I won by 40). But other than that, it hasn’t been close. As a first timer, I think the thing that saved me was spending time understanding the scoring system, getting FFT Draft Buddy which confirmed my hunch that QB’s would be king in this league, followed by WR, then RB’s, and then trusting that hunch as RB’s flew off the board. Drafting the pre-season #1 QB, then the #1 & #5 WR, and the #5 RB, #2 K, and #1 Def. never hurts, but know who those players were in our league’s scoring was huge, and most of the vet’s didn’t pay as much attention as me. Plus, keeping up on the undrafted/unheralded players that are emerging, like Coston and Gabriel (whom I picked up Tuesday, waving Crumpler) are giving me options and points where other owners are staying pat and scoring less each week. I could lose every game from here on out, and I’d love to have more depth/production at RB, and even if I get to the Championship game I’m screwed if the Colts have clinched and Payton takes the week off, but for now, I’m feeling pretty good, and proud that it’s not really a fluke! BlackPlague 1 Posted October 5, 2006 4-0 in my $100 entry work league. Won the battle of the lone 3-0s last week. QB: Favre - Bledsoe/Plummer were drafted to platoon at starter but picked up Favre late because he was still there. Favre started 3/4 weeks so far and is in my lineup so far for week 5. RB: Been riding LT and Westbrook here - Dunn has filled in well on injury/bye. Cadillac and Lamont Jordan waiting on the bench (yes, it's an 8 team league...and obviously, a pretty weak league to boot) WR: Holt/Driver/D Jax/J Walker - Holt has it cranking now. Driver/DJax been solid hit and misses. Lucky to have used Walker on his big week. TE: Waiver wiring best matchup. Some dork dropped Crumpler and I got him so will prob stick with him. K: Waiver wiring best weekly matchup Def: Again, was waiver wiring until I picked up Atlanta last week. Prob will stick with them.

pook187 0 Posted October 5, 2006 8-0. We play 2 games a week in my league. McNabb seems to be a popular name in this thread. I was down 102-58 on Monday and ended up pulling out 2 victories thanks to Donnie Mac. I have think eventually I'm going to have to trade some RB depth to upgrade my starters.
