T.O. continues to mock Dallas police

Recommended Posts

T.O. never known to be one to make friends

Owens has started talking to local reporters only on Wednesdays, so he knew this was his day to put on a show. He walked into the locker room ready to do just that, eagerly saying, "Man!" upon seeing the crowd already gathered around his stall.

His first statement came from his wardrobe: a gray T-shirt that read, "Funny little football person," a line angrily said about him last week by the head of the Dallas Police Association.rink

I think that's pretty damn funny, actually. IMO, that Dallas captain who said that was totally out of line.

His department ended up with egg on their faces for releasing information to the media WAY too soon and got mad at TO for uh, denying that he tried to kill himself. When all signs point to him not having tried to kill himself.

I think that shirt is amusing as hell.

Haven't spoken about TO at all up to this point, but heck....everyone else seems to have, so......

IMO, Owens does owe his team, the Dallas PD and the Dallas taxpayers an apology for wasting time and taxpayer money on his stupid, self-indulgent, "look at me" type mentality. He admitted to taking too many pills that appears to have put his health/life in temporary jeapordy, at least. Enough so that his publicist even tried to pry some pills from his mouth and called 911 because she feared for his life.

I believe the cops were informed that TO tried to hurt himself - either by TO himself or by his publicist - and likely by both of them. Many police reports are public record (I don't know about this one from Dallas), so releasing the info to the public/press isn't all that much of a big deal.

Maybe he wasn't really trying to kill himself, but it sure looks like he tried to OD on those pills to at least send himself to oblivion for awhile.

TO is an ass and a primadonna. He's been a cancer to at least his two former teams (SF and PH) and looks to be causing the same sickness in Dallas. Being a Broncos fan & former Den resident, I am delighted that the Bronc's passed on TO in lieu of J Walker.

Oh, and I agree with Scooter his "funny little football person" shirt is a clever bit on his point. Not very respectable to the EMS/cops that responded to his OD and helped to get him back to health, but still humorous in its own twisted way.

While I agree with the thought that the shirt was very funny...you just love to spin why the police got mad at TO and his PR Ho...

I disagree that he owes anyone an apology for wasting time when he was in need of the paramedics.

Spoke more out of my dislike for TO and his antics than from a realistic point of view - you are right, he need not apologize for needing emergency assistance. But it would sure be nice to see him be thankful for them coming to his help.

How quickly everyone forgets. TO and his publisist called the police liars, stating the reports were't acurate. The Dallas Captian was just sticking up for his men. What kind of person mocks the people who tried to help him. TO is a class A1 jerk.

I am sure TO plays more than his share of taxes and those damn hospital bills are outrageous anyways so I am sure they are glad to get there money too.

This statment is a lie, least in terms of TO. He never called anybody a liar, he said he had no recollection of anything bcoz of the state he was in. As far as her, I believe she said she didn't recall the facts as the police did.

He actually did thank them for their help on the press conference the next day. He said "I would like to thank ......." I am positive he did.... Get your story straight, he did nothing wrong.

Saying she does not recall the facts as the police did is saying they are lying. You do not have to use the word liar in order to imply they are liars. What part of that don't you get.

So what you are saying is that once again, T.O. has a moron speaking for him.....

Drew R. now this chick? Can't he figure out they are causing half his problems? Idiotic people. Whoever has a woman speak for them anyway? Nothing but trouble can come of that.

there is a HUGE difference between saying you do not remember what happened and flat out calling somebody a liar. considering TO was in an induced drug state, this is hardly a reach at all. i'm afraid it is you that does not get it, and that's too bad.

FWIW, only after he was told to. In his initial press conference he said nothing and didn't offer any thanks. Then the PR came on and when told by a reporter that the police statement said she said that T.O. was depressed she denied she ever said that. Then the reporter said the police are under oath and she said someting along the lines of, "Look, that's what I'm telling you now". Then she left and only at the urging of whoever T.O. spoke too off camera did he finally say he wanted to thank the Police/EMS.

In any case I agree the line is funny, but it's not about whether it's funny or not. It's clear it was tasteless and classless and mocked the Dallas police. I bet they'd just love to pull T.O. over for a traffic violation.

Exactly. What happens if the police and EMT's don't get there quickly, and something medically happens to TO where his health is affected?

You know damn well that the public, the Cowboys, and TO's people would want immediate answers from the police and EMT's, no doubt about it.

TO's publicist sucks.

first off, who the hell are you to know what went on off camera? just curious how you got that info. do you have a link?

second, regardless of whether someone told him to or didn't, he did thank them. that was what the guy said he should do. he said that T.O. should thank the police/EMS and that he had not done so yet.

you guys are just like the media, tossing T.O. under the bus before he even gets a chance. sh1t!

Terrell never said the police lied. The police spokesman is out of line for calling T.O. "a little football person". How unprofessional. The police in this instance are the one's that are out of line. I support Terrell. He did nothing wrong.

I either read it in one of the many news stories, or I heard it from ESPN, who covered the story ad nauseum.

It would have been more genuine if he didn't have to be told to thank them, that's all. Sorry to get your panties all in a bunch.

So Oliver North and Preisdent Reagan lied before judge and jury? Shouldn't they have been locked up for saying "I do not recall" over and over?

I cannot believe that people are in here calling the police unprofessional. It's just unreal. TO and professional are two words I'd never put together. Hell, TO and sane, I'd never say that either. I'm amused that their are still TO defenders in this world. Speaks to how bad our society has really gotten.

She lied because she realized that this whole suicide fiasco was because of what she said, or lead the police/EMT's to believe what was happening.

For what it's worth, of all the self-righteous arrogant jerks in America, about 80% of them are cops. Having said that, I suppose that's a requirement when you're facing danger everyday.

Obviously people didnt' pay that much attention to what actually went on...you are just taking bits and pieces and either conveniently forgetting or just not stating all the facts.

Let me also state that I do not like TO as a person and I also don't have him on my fantasy team...so dont' say anythign about any of those two areas.

1) At no time either in the police report on the 911 call did the publicist say TO comitted suicide

2) The police report is inaccurate...you act like a police report is wholier than the bible. The police listened to a remark from someone who nothing about the case

3) TO thanked the police...end of story...there is no need to chastize TO becasue you were made to look like an idiot

4) It is now TOs right to make those idiots...well...look like idiots. The police and media did a terrible job with the case....it could have all been ended if they would have just came out....oh about 10 hours earlier and reported on all the inaccuracies they caused.

to add to #2, the remarks were initially attributed to the ambulance driver (though Sho Nuff will swear to you it was the publicist talking to the 9-11 operator).

Please provide a link, quote or ANYTHING that substantiates the horsesh!t you're spewing here. TO didn't "point a finger" at anyone. He thanked the Dallas police.

The fact is that there is no quote, link or anything to support this statement, because TO didn't do anything even resembling this. Which pretty much makes you a giant d0uchebag.

Hey, if you don't like the guy - say that.

But making sh!t up to serve your desire to bash on the guy is asinine.

Fact is that TO's entire ordeal should have gone unnoticed - but the Dallas police were a little trigger happy with releasing the initial reports, and the national media was WAY too trigger happy about blowing it all out of proportion. Hell, ESPN declared it "national TO day" - they rolled out psychologists, and experts and dutifully regurgitated the nonsense about him having taken a whole bottle of pills and having his stomach pumped - neither of which turned out to have happened.

TO had a reaction to medicine, possible by taking an extra one, or maybe he's just very sensitive to pain killers. We'll never know. It is now clear that he did not try to kill himself. Frankly, the media , fed in part by an erronious police report, screwed up HUGE. The police screwed up huge. They should NOT have released a report until they were sure of their facts. Suppose this went on to cost him an edorsement deal worth millions of dollars? Well then TO would'nt be laughing, he'd be speed dialing his lawyer who would easily win a case againt the Dallas PD for just plain screwing up. The cops need to look at themselves on this one, but if there's one things cop DON'T look it, it's their own problems. TO got sick, went to the hospital, and left. He said thanks to the paramdecs and he laughs at the cops who screwed up. What would you do? :D

There's a big difference between defending him and calling out some turd burgler for making sh!t up. As in your case, for example.

1) At no time either in the police report on the 911 call did the publicist say TO comitted suicide

I failed to notice any post where anyone did. If they did, that's wrong. It was inferred by what the publicist said - that TO was depressed, when asked if he was trying to harm himself he said "Yes", his own mental and physical condition and the missing pills.

2) The police report is inaccurate...

Link? The police are under oath. People would rather beleive them than a person of very questionable character.

3) TO thanked the police...end of story...there is no need to chastize TO becasue you were made to look like an idiot

Only after being told, or reminded too. I was just stating fact that when told to do something it isn't as genuine. In fact, he might not have any inclination to thank them, but was told it would be good PR, something he desperately needed at that time.

It is now TOs right to make those idiots...well...look like idiots.

What role does the media have in this? You don't think the media was like a swarm of bees over the whole situation? In any case, the only one looking like an idiot here is T.O. and his publicist.

I agree the whole thing could have been avoided, but it was the publicist alone that caused the whole issue. Never mind that T.O. has a problem self-medicating.

After reading all the articles and watching espn who always starts every show with T.O. and reading all of the forums here, I wonder what everybody has against this guy. If people think that hes just doing this stuff for attention, then ur buying in to the hype by listening to the media and then making ur observations and then posting it here. If he doesnt interest u, then dont write about him!! I really dont understand why everybody here has turned into a doctor and gave the official word that he tried to kill himself. Last time I checked, he has problems like many of us, but he lives the life of luxury plus he has a child or children. I could never end my life and have my child have to deal with that. Think about it, maybe hes telling the truth, did anyone ever consider that? Maybe he just had a broken finger and had a plate inserted into his hand and after surgury, he was in pain. I know hes done some pretty wack stuff and deserves alot of negative publicity but some of you are suggesting that he "almost overdosed just for attention" how silly does that sound? I might kill myself but if I dont, Ill get alot of press. Everybody says hes a premodonna, fine but the guy plays hurt, superbowl, last week. Earliar I read about a bronco fan saying that ur glad u got javon walker, like walker was an angel last year. I remember him saying he would retire before he played for the packers again. Thats pretty premodonna in my book. But when T.O. does its the worst thing ever. I know this is a looooong post and ill get bashed for kind of backing T.O. up but my main point is, I dont think he tried to kill himself, I really dont.

Me too. About the only thing I would do is say I'm 100% certain he did not try to kill himself. I highly doubt this was a publicity stunt too. He just focked up with the ove-medication, the supplements, and his publicist, in a panic, gave misleading information to the paramedics. Throw in the media circus, who probably have satellite trucks camped outside his place and you have an explosive situation.
