football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 My thoughts exactly.  I was new to IDP last year, so I played it safe and took the starting lineup of O players 1st, then started on IDP. It was tough at first, but the FA list did wonders for me through the season, and I ended up with a top 4 D in my league. If my O hadn't been riddled with untimely injury, I'd have smoked that league.  I think the 1st D player went in the 4th there, and I thought it was too early but I'd never done IDP before. Now I think I'll wait until 6 or 7 to take my first. RB/RB/WR and WR/QB at minimum for me before I take a defensive player - unless I have those and Ray is sitting there in the 6th.  There's SO many good D players, it just seems like the shortage of RBs and WRs in deeper leagues dictates that you need to draft O first. Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 As a comparison. In my IDP last year Ray was the first D taken and it was at 7.1, and we all thought that was too early. That league scores them higher too. He gave me some ideas for 3.04, but circumstances dictated that he be consulted for this pick since some things happened that we didn't expect. We may get a lucky break any minute, but methinkin this is done for the night. Grigs is tired, Mac's not here. Hey, 3 and a half rounds a day would be excellent for one of these deals. I'll be up and online for about three more hours, West Coaster and all. I won't be online until about 8am PST. Just have to take what we've got, I guess. Â so maybe he'll work out for you... I agree, somewhat of a reach. His average draft position in mocks is 3.7-3.8. I'm not too high on Westbrook and think the 3rd tier of runningbacks is very close. I figured I'll grab a rb in the fourth and take a risk on McNabb hoping TO works out in Philly and McNabb's #'s improve. I really never take QB's that early though.
