Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Over two hours since Grigs picked. Moz is present and accounted for, Bluepointer has sent a list. Scooter is slowing what could be a fast moving morning. Sounds like yesterday.
BleedingEagleGreen 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Over two hours since Grigs picked. Moz is present and accounted for, Bluepointer has sent a list. Scooter is slowing what could be a fast moving morning. Sounds like yesterday. And he complained when I went an hour-twenty to make a pick last night? Hmm... And, just out of curiosity... what is "-40-"? I've seen it a number of times now and have no clue what it means.
Butcher 0 Posted July 7, 2004 -40- ModeratorPower! LOL, I saw my 40 post deletored, and I was like "oops, Zap isn't joking around." Moderate this pal.
Butcher 0 Posted July 7, 2004 And, just out of curiosity... what is "-40-"? I've seen it a number of times now and have no clue what it means. 40 is just a post that brings the thread to a second page. It means nothing, but people feel the need to celebrate it. football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Yeah, last night's 3 hour wait was a painful & bitter reminder that Travis Henry should really be on my roster. Anyway, Santanna Moss was an absolute steal at 3.
PackerAaron 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I m gone for a few hours NO!!! NO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Please, for the love of all mankind, tell me he sent Zap a list...
Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I m gone for a few hours NO!!! NO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Please, for the love of all mankind, tell me he sent Zap a list... I sure hope so, since he was on deck. I'm not a big fan of lists, but a list of 2 names isn't tough.

I'm not a big fan of lists, but a list of 2 names isn't tough. No kidding. This is getting stupid. If you're comming up in the next 2 or 3 picks, and you're going to be gone, send a freekin list... Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I m gone for a few hours NO!!! NO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Please, for the love of all mankind, tell me he sent Zap a list... Oye... It's just not that hard to send a list, but no. He's lobbying for a spot in the IBL. I should report his behavior and lack of teamwork!! On MossII: I'm very cautious to take the bait on him. Even the Jets are listing... um.. you know, that new guy... as their #1 wr. Moss sure did light it up last year. So has MRob and Stallworth in similar situations. I still have two receivers ahead of Santana on my list, but... well, that is all. I don't have a "Core 5" strategy, but I really want Horn on my team this year. The Moz 69 Posted July 7, 2004 will pick within 5 minutes.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 You really want that IBL spot! Good luck with that, btw, and ygm.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 will pick within 5 minutes. This will come right back to you. I have a list from Bluepointer. I haven't opened it, but I know he's thorough from last year.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 7, 2004 I figured out what -40- is, and TIA, but someone enlighten me on "HTH". I'm sure it will be obvious once you tell me. Westbrook was a bit of reach at my pick based on Krueger's projections, but I like his prospects as Waldman makes some great arguments for Westbrook in his Gut Check column. The ADP was pretty much bang on so I really did not expect I could wait on him.

And you have to politic a little to get your name recognized -- though there are those like Bouve and Clash that tend to take it a few steps beyond that On my Pick -- I had a number of players I wanted but Boldin had the most upside of my choices as he has a legit threat on the other side and a much better offensive coach along with the fact IMO it's just too early to go IDP

I don't have a "Core 5" strategy, but I really want Horn on my team this year. yeah, well - the other choices I had were equally risky, IMO. Bouldin has a rookie QB, and high draft pick WR to take catches...and the third choice is a diminutive player on a team that is typically run-first. SMoss should be fine as a #1 WR. Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 HTH-- Sometimes sincere, most often sarcastic... Hope This Helps. I'll be a little slow to edit the reference threads so for the next 15 minutes or so, check the references and the rounds to make sure your pick is available. Be right back. Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 By early September I will probably have Santana in the top 5. I just have this old habit of keeping veterans high on my lists and waiting and watching the youngsters... Gotta run for a minute.
football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Doh! I actually had yet another high risk-high reward WR on my list.
The Moz 69 Posted July 7, 2004 I wanted to go WR here but there was just noone that stood out - so why not at least be set solid at RB ! Anyway IMO Kevin Jones is the next LT2 ! How he didn't get picked till the end of round 1 I don't know.
Bluepointer 0 Posted July 7, 2004 By early September I will probably have Santana in the top 5. I just have this old habit of keeping veterans high on my lists and waiting and watching the youngsters... Gotta run for a minute. I believe Moss was the first guy on my list. I think he will be a solid wr this year. I will need a taller wr as my #1 in GOIDPANKAL this year though. I might just be working some serious GOIDPANKAL counter intelligence in this draft Zap...or I might not be.
football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 And there's the high risk/reward guy, so it all worked out. Not bad - one other WR I might have grabbed instead, but reportedly KRob wants to be "the man" in Seattle - he's stayed in the area and worked out the entire offseason. Reportedly. If he can be the WR he's suppossed to be, he's a steal.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 First Henry, now Garner. Grigs, you're killing me. Why'd I try so hard to make you join us! Had you accepted my list last night, Garner was next. I thought he was going to make it. Gimme a second to pick. Players by position is updated. Rosters are not.
Bluepointer 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Mason suxors imo, lol. Is this actually a WR run?

Very solid #2 if you only have 1 RB late in the 3rd or early 4th. He should be back to form of a couple years ago, I reckon.
PackerAaron 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Mason suxors imo, lol. Is this actually a WR run? How can you hate Mason? Not the flashiest, but he produces, much more than some of the guys taken before him...I couldn't believe he was still there, and if Zap ( ) hadn't have taken him, I would have. Every year he drops, and every year he outscores guys taken 2 or 3 rounds ahead of him. It is a tip.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Thanks Blue! I have Mason and Horn higher than most based on how I projected their offenses before projecting individuals. Anyway. I have a great boss who doesn't care if I do this. LOL But I have another responsibility at the moment. I'll be checking in and updating when I can. At least every 15 minutes. Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I'm going to go to lunch. Be back in an hour or so...
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Bouve seems to be MIA this morning. We could be in for a pause, but that was a nice run. I'll have it all updated on the half hour. I see many of you are here. Short lists may prove prudent. Who knows Bouve's schedule this morning. Nice little run there gents. Good job! Today's goal: Rd 7.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I might just be working some serious GOIDPANKAL counter intelligence in this draft Zap...or I might not be. I know t.j will consider my mock a mockery. He doesn't trust me. Go figure?
BleedingEagleGreen 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I will be gone for a good portion of the day tomorrow as I have some golf to attend to I will send over a list sometime in the morning depending on where we are in the draft. Have a good night. Did he actually send a list?
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 No. With so many here and waiting, this is a perfect example of when I will proxy. It's 10am my time, I'll give him another 45 minutes and we'll get moving. Check back then, or sooner in case he shows, or send a short list to cover yourself. FF Aff is also absent this morning. So, we could be slowed down.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 And I just received a list from FF Aff, so we really need to hear from Bouve soon. FFKing is pretty reliable as far as I can tell, so proxy from the consensus may be the best thing. If one or two of you have the time right now to peruse the rankings and discuss who he should get, much obliged. I just got very busy, dern it.
The Moz 69 Posted July 7, 2004 give the asshat emmitt smith and lets move on !
BleedingEagleGreen 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I'll refrain from that discussion, since BarnabyWilde is up next and we have a guy targetted already. Although I will say that we are expecting Bouve to select a RB since he only has one thus far... (By the way, I just talked to him and he was getting ready to get on the Tower of Terror at Disneyland. I'll get a review of it from him before his next pick comes back around.) BleedingEagleGreen 0 Posted July 7, 2004 give the asshat emmitt smith and lets move on ! How about giving him a real treat and selecting Ricky Williams (RB-Colts) for him? Imagine how happy he'd be to have two Rickys on his team!
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Although I will say that we are expecting Bouve to select a RB since he only has one thus far... Marcel Shipp (Emmitt's backup... ) is the next RB via Staff Consensus.
