Another foot + is supposed to start falling tonight through Friday. After not having more than a few inches all winter, this will be the 2nd big snow fall in less than a week. :dunno:

I'm not sure the dancing banana is warranted in this situation. I'm just now recovering from all the shoveling I did on Sunday and Monday.

Though, I'm fully prepared to "work from home" tomorrow and Friday, so it won't be all bad.

Hard to really complain though consider how little snow we had up until this point. Thank God I got the sweet snow blower.

Come on, dude. The beer is always cold at my house.

I wish I knew how to use a snowblower. I wouldn't have had to shovel my way out of my aunt and uncle's driveway on Sunday if I did.

At least some people are nice when it snows. Some random dude from a house across the street came over and shoveled and then pushed my car out on Monday.

Do you live around Duluth or some where around there??? Yeah, they got like 20 inches last week, and are expected to get up to 30 inches again today through the weekend  Freakin insane, that area ususally don't get big snow storms, they get frequent smaller storms, but, snowstorms of this magnitude are very rare that far north. Have fun, here in Detroit, we have gotten one measily 8 inch snowfall a couple weeks ago, other than that, a lot of 1-2 inch days, a really weak winter snow wise.

Man, it was snowing so hard when I left the gym last night, I thought there'd be two feet this morning. But it looks more like two inches.

I'm working from home as a precaution, though. I brought all the stuff with me, so why spend time commuting?

Living in Orlando all my life, I don't know how you Yankees do it. I like seeing snow every once in a while, but I couldn't live like that.

Shoveling mounds of snow. Starting your car 1/2 hour before you leave. Freezing your ass off every time you step outside. Scraping ice off your windshield in the mornings. Driving on ice. No fishing til spring, excpet for ice-fishing. Having to wear 10 layers of clothes. Watching your car slowly rust to death from all the salt on the roads. Facing possible death if your car breaks down in a rural area. There may be more...

You people are nuts. I actually had to use my A/C last night because it was a little warm in my condo. Good ole Florida.

Yeah, the ride in was not bad this morning. They way they're talking though, I'm thinkin I might work (snowblow) from home this afternoon. I'm thinking taking off at noon might not be a bad idea today.

I moved from Colorado & Ohio to Texas. My family keeps asking me when i'm moving back. I tell them if I never see another damn snowflake in my life, I'll be just fine.

Down here, Texans are like "Colorado's BEAUTIFUL! Why would you move?" What they don't understand is all of the above. - Their view of Colo is on vacation. - Not getting up early to shovel your driveway, bundling all the clothes on and off, and risking your freaking life driving to work so that your nerves are so shot by the time you get there, it takes an hour to shake it off. Yeah, snow's great - if you're waking up in a condo 100 yards from the ski resort.

You get used to whatever conditions you're in. But, all things being equal, I'll stay here. Hell, I hate humidity. But I don't have to shovel it , it never caused a car wreck - and I got air conditioning.

FYI -

Snowblowers are easy to operate......

step 1 - grab handle/lever on leftside starts the auger (snow thrower)

step 2 - grab handle/lever on rightside starts the machine moving.

step 3 - aim moving machine as snow :dunno:

PS A random dude from a house across the street is called a NEIGHBOR. :D

that is the beauty of winter weather, random strangers help each other out. I think here in Michigan it is some kind of unwritten law that you have to help push cars from the ditch and carry jumpercables.

Living in Orlando all my life, I don't know how you Yankees do it. I like seeing snow every once in a while, but I couldn't live like that.

Shoveling mounds of snow. it is not bad for the first couple of months then it sucks

Starting your car 1/2 hour before you leave. Car starter - no problem

Freezing your ass off every time you step outside. I would say the same about the heat/humidity for you..

Scraping ice off your windshield in the mornings. again, no problem car starter

Driving on ice. 4x4 jeep :pointstosky: and driving for the conditions i.e. slow

No fishing til spring, excpet for ice-fishing. I don't fish, so no problem there

Having to wear 10 layers of clothes. true, but cold is better then hot, where I live you can always put on more cloths and be comfortable, imagine the opposite where you live it gets so focking hot and there is only so much cloths you can take off before you get arrested. I'll take the cold.

Watching your car slowly rust to death from all the salt on the roads. ok, I agree with this one, but a car washing does help a little bit

Facing possible death if your car breaks down in a rural area.

There may be more...

You people are nuts. I actually had to use my A/C last night because it was a little warm in my condo. Good ole Florida.

That is funny, I see where you are coming from, but I can deal with all the issues you listed above. see in bold

I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so the cold rarely bothers me. My wife gets mad and says my blood is too thick. She is from North Carolina and bitches about the snow/cold all the time. That is why we are looking leave the area.

I can say the same about the heat & humdity in the south. Look at what you have to live/deal with.

heat stroke, sweaty ball sack, a/c on full blast in the car all the time, running from a/c building to a/c building, black top melting under your feet, Tornados, Hurricanes, poisonious (sp) bugs/snakes...not to mention IF global warming actually exists The south will in inhabitable and Michigan will be loaded prime waterfront property.

Well, the dude from the house across the street was actually a couple of blocks away from here. Still a neighbor, though, I guess.

It's not too bad here yet. At least on my street.

Heat stroke - Only old Yankees who retire to Florida suffer heat strokes.

Sweaty balls - Ok, yes. I do have sweaty balls.

A/C full blast in car - Only during the afternoons.

A/C in buildings - Meh. My electric bill ain't too bad.

Tornados - Extremely rare.

Hurricanes - They only destroy the coastline. Orlando hardly ever gets touched.

Poisonous bug/snakes - Nothing wrong with a few bugs. It beats freezing your ass off.

Global warming - Won't effect me in the least bit during my lifetime. But our great-grandchildren should probably worry.
