wiffleball 4,653 Posted March 26, 2007 Turns out, it's actually more fuel efficient to drive with all yer winders down than to drive with them up and the AC cranking. - Significantly more so. The only thing I would've like to have seen is for them to use more than one type of vehicle.
RLLD 3,455 Posted March 26, 2007 Didn't we devote a thread, and a week, to this subject last summer? I think the breaking point was something like all the windows down, and over 60MPH or something like that... Regardless, MPG will certainly be far better if you can avoid running the air.... brinett9 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I thought they found this was true up to about 45 or 50 mph. My question is: If ithe ambient temp is comfortable enough to roll your windows down, why the fock would you use air conditioning?

GettnHuge 1 Posted March 26, 2007 It is a legit question tho, because of the drag created by the windows down...but adam drove an extra 30 laps on the track. fockin huge diff. I still drive the explorer sports trac which is nice cause the back window goes all the way down, so you can have the other windows down and it just goes out the back instead of whipping around. It also goes down a couple inches to vent. nice setup imho img I don't have that rain deflector tho
