I agree that A-Rod gets a terrible deal out of this, but Jeter has got the rings. If A-Rod exploded one postseason and the Yankees won a championship, he'd get more of a pass when he struggles. He's hits in the 2 spot and probably is currently best in the game at that... Making contact, hitting for average, stealing bases, and scoring runs... that's what he has to do for his team to win. With batters this is easy. Just take their career games played and divide by 162 and then divide their career totals by that factor. no.. that's just dumb... does he start 120 games every season???? johan santana averages 14 wins a season by this count. is it so hard to believe that they can calculate stats to rule out outliers like injuries and hardly playing any games your rookie year??? it calculates stats per games played and multiplies it by 162 think about it... say AROD hits 40 homers this year... then gets injured and doesn't play a game next year... would you say he averaged 20 HRs per season then??? no... you act like it isn't a legitimate way to calculate stats... a commonly practiced stat... better known as career avg... so you never looked at the back of your baseball cards as a kid???
