Kopy 587 Posted April 29, 2007 Somebody mentioned they really liked Allen as a sleeper. I think it was chaserdawg? Lotta beer, can't remember. If we don't at least draft some TE, anyone? I will definitly, duct tie the kid and shove her in a dark closet. Kick the dog, then beat the wife.
FlaHawker 24 Posted April 29, 2007 Jordan Kent? Talk to me Phillybear...
phillybear 366 Posted April 29, 2007 Jordan Kent, WR, Oregon. I had him at #215. At this point, Ruskell is taunting the fans. He is rubbing our noses in feces. You think we need a TE? Hah. We'll line up 5 WRs. You'll see. Kill me.
Kopy 587 Posted April 29, 2007 Good thing we still have Ben Obywankanobie at wr Oh good. Ben Patrick is an Arizona Cardinal. Great. Oh by the way Darrell Jackson is a 49er.
phillybear 366 Posted April 29, 2007 All the TEs are gone. It's official. Ruskell simply will not draft a player from a small, lower level school. Doesn't matter how talented the kid might be. Not on his draft board. That is a very stupid way to put together a draft. Limiting your options. Stupid. Steve Vallos, OG, Wake Forest. Another guy I had in the #300s. Who cares? This guy won't make the team.
phillybear 366 Posted April 29, 2007 I reviewed transaction to refresh my memory. Don't seem like we lost much in the offseason, and didn't sign much either. Need areas: Defensive backfield Offensive line, specifically guard Defensive line Tight End Obviously, with injuries, the backfield was a mess last year. Seemed like whomever we stuck back there looked completely lost. I am very uncomfortable with the WR position, but I doubt this will be addressed. TE is a mess. We got Pollard and Mili? Ugh. Is Mili still on the team? Every year, I scream for Defensive linemen, and we can't find a decent one in the draft. Offensive line needs to be addressed, since we got some old guys in the lineup and at backups. I'd like to upgrade at backup RB, with Morris only considered the scat back, but I doubt they'll do anything here. Mixed results. I thought we might address defensive backfield, offensive guard, and defensive line. All were addressed in the first four picks. And for the most part, the picks were OK. Terrible the rest of the way. I didn't expect two WRs to be taken. Taylor was good, Kent was a big reach. Reach with Herring. Ignored the TE position. Ignored quite a bit of talent in the late rounds. A promising start led to an awful finish. Grade C-

They couldn't get the needed frist downs last year and constantly left the D in a whole. They needed O'line, TE, and someone to backup SA. Never even addressed needs on day 1. Worst Seattle draft I've seen in years. and it'll be years before we see them in the playoffs again
worm 36 Posted April 29, 2007 How about Joe Newton as a UDFA? Has experience playing in NW weather, and some projected him going in rounds 5-6, so it would be decent value.
phillybear 366 Posted April 29, 2007 How about Joe Newton as a UDFA? Has experience playing in NW weather, and some projected him going in rounds 5-6, so it would be decent value. I mention Newton earlier in this thread, so I am absolutely on board with this. I guess we will have to see which free agents they sign. Defensive Backfield. They couldn't get the needed frist downs last year and constantly left the D in a whole. They needed O'line, TE, and someone to backup SA. Never even addressed needs on day 1. Worst Seattle draft I've seen in years. and it'll be years before we see them in the playoffs again I don't mind upgrading the defense. While I like our starters on defense for the most part, the backups are mostly a bunch of warm bodies which I don't have much confidence in. Our division will have some pretty solid offenses this year, so it's best to have a good defense. The offense had a ridiculous amount of injuries last year, but two years ago, Seattle had the #1 offense. Granted, Steve Hutchinson, Darrell Jackson, and Jerramy Stevens are gone, but the core group is still here. If that core remains healthy this year, the offense will be fine. If Pollard somehow remains healthy, it will be more than fine. He is a solid receiving threat.

FlaHawker 24 Posted April 30, 2007 Hawks sign Oregon State's Newton Posted by Mike Sando @ 04:42:04 pm The Seahawks have signed Oregon State TE Joe Newton to a free-agent contract. We'll have some other free-agent signings in the near future. We're expecting 11, which will get the Hawks to 87 players. Then they'll hold some tryouts, most likely. Ok now everyone take a deep breath. Ruskell signed a TE.
