jgcrawfish 232 Posted April 30, 2007 Hell, why not just go "Longest Yard" and see if they can acquire Pacman Jones, Chris Henry and Tank Johnson in the process?

Celticspride 0 Posted April 30, 2007 Briggs has already stated that he wouldn't switch to a 3-4, so why would New England want him? One of the biggest, if not the biggest attributes Bill Belichick covets is versatility, and if Briggs isn't willing to switch to a 3-4, I can't see the Patriots trading for him, even if the price was extremely low, as was the case with Moss. No shovel, I really didn't expect them to sign Adalius Thomas, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker, and Randy Moss. shocking I know, but I just never saw it coming. I figured they'd land one big name FA and load up on young DBs and LBs in the draft.

Agreed, I thought maybe one FA, but now not both Thomas and Stallworth, and adding Moss & Welker via trade wasn't on my radar either (also adding a extra 1st rounder and 3rd rounder for next season). I'm blown away by who and how they've added these guys. once again, I'm not crowning anyone but there is certainly reason for excitement.

I'm as or more optimistic about the SuperBowl than I ever have been... anything short of the SuperBowl will be a disappointment this year... but that's how high they've set the bar... can't fault them for that... it's better than being the f'n Bruins. Awesome, hopefully all Pats fans are thinking Super Bowl or bust. Can't wait for the Pats fans to start offing themselves come December :hyper:

Can't wait for the Pats fans to start offing themselves come December :hyper: yup, it'll be pretty depressing for Pats fans if it all falls apart... they've never looked better going into the season... they've never looked sexier on paper. unless of course the Red Sox win the World Series... the overflow of euphoria will lessen the pain of a Pats early exit... and then NE's loaded with draft picks in '08 (2 more firsts)... so we'll have that going for us. Bunch of focking hypocrites. I'd be surprised if the Pats even win the division.

GutterBoy 2,899 Posted April 30, 2007 New bait, same ending So tell me, is it about the team and the system and character as it has been, or is it now about getting the most talent and throwing it on the field? I know, it's bait.

Now they've thrown some talent on top of the pile. the fact that bitter Charger fans are this pissed off tells me that I should be even happier than I am right now. DBZFan2K 0 Posted April 30, 2007 The Pats can win even with average players because of great coaching. You turn those average players into great players and you can expect even more wins with the same great coaching. Briggs isn't going to the Pats though. bigtuna 0 Posted April 30, 2007 Briggs doesn't fit the system at all and would cost too much. The Pats are not going to pay top dollar for a player like Briggs. People should remember that Moss and stallworth got LOW MONEY deals. Together they make about the same as Deoin Branch would have. Every team has room for only a few top money contracts....the Pats already have Brady, Seymour and Adaluis Thomas making big $$. And in a couple years they will need to make room for Ty Warren and possibly Vince Wilfork. not to mention dealing with Assante Samuel.
