Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted June 1, 2007 Oh, and I hate Jim Nantz too. Horribly annoying studio guy. Also Jim Gray, that guy's an asshole. Bob Costas too. I forgot about that guy. Was it Lin Elliott he threw under the bus on national TV?
shovelheadt 71 Posted June 1, 2007 I forgot about that guy. Was it Lin Elliott he threw under the bus on national TV? We talking about the Jim Gray that was verbally biatch slapped by Chad Curtis of the Yankees? One of my best memories of post game interviews.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted June 1, 2007 I know he's a little off subject, but I gotta 2nd the notion on Jim Rome. That guy is horrible. There are times when I crank on the radio to the local sports station and his pauses are so long I think the radio station is off the air. That and he friggin endlessly repeats himself. He can fill a whole segment with the same topic using the same 3 sentences just worded different ways...it's ridiculous. The friggin clones and their smack are about 10x more entertaining and enlightening than he is. Hated Cossell, always expected the guy to drop to his knees and start giving Ali some knobslobbing everytime he covered. Can't frigging stand Theismann... Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted June 1, 2007 We talking about the Jim Gray that was verbally biatch slapped by Chad Curtis of the Yankees? One of my best memories of post game interviews. That would be the one. The reference I made was to an AFC divisional game between the Colts and the Chiefs in KC (KC was heavily favoured). Elliott missed three field goals from within 40 yards in a 10-7 upset loss, and Jim Gray interviewed a Colt on the field immediately afterwards (can't remember who - maybe Harbaugh?). His first question, on national TV, was "So will you guys be sending Lin Elliott a thank you card?" - asked with a straight face. The Colt looked at him like he had 8 eyes. Lionsjunkie 1 Posted June 1, 2007 I feel the worst is Hawk Harrelson, the White Sox announcer. He's easily the most annoying and biased announcer in sports. His phrases are terrible as well. WINNER Theisman, Steven A Smith & JIm Rome honorable mentions

If you think the callers on his radio show are "10x more enlightening than he is" you are dreaming buddy... The very first time I listened to Rome's radio show, waaay back in the day, I wanted to string him up and throw him on my BBQ at a Raider tailgate. But I stuck around, tuned in for a couple weeks, and ended up getting his act. He is absolutely freaking HILARIOUS at times, is by far the best interviewer out there, and actually has solid views on sports (despite only having been a tennis player at UCSB.) It's sort of like taking your very first sip of beer, you hate the sh*t at first but soon grow to like it. In fact, that is the exact disclaimer Rome will throw out to every new city his show opens up in.
49ER MAN 0 Posted June 2, 2007 I can't believe no one has said Harry Caray, RIP. I got annoyed when he was still saying it might be, it could be and a fan already has the ball in his/her hand after an HR. Come on Harry, have another Budweiser!
cheeseboy 0 Posted June 2, 2007 I can't believe no one has said Harry Caray, RIP. I got annoyed when he was still saying it might be, it could be and a fan already has the ball in his/her hand after an HR. Come on Harry, have another Budweiser! First, thank god someone said Harry freakin Caray...I heard some archival stuff of his earlier years, and he sucked a$$ even before his brain/liver were pickled. There's something about Chicago sports fans taking mediocrity and elevating it to perceived greatness. No wonder the Cubs won't ever win anything, if that's what they think "great" is! And I know we have a lot of people slagging Joe Theismann, but I think his American Gladiator body of work really balances out some of his later weaknesses... But...in the end, there can be only one. And we can argue that his career might not have been as tenured as some, or his name as famous as others but... Brian "Boom Goes the Dynamite" Collins was a sportscaster, and is clearly, easily, unarguably the WORST sportscaster ever:
Gepetto 1,374 Posted June 2, 2007 Bryant Gumble Joe Theisman Doug Collins
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted June 3, 2007 Bryant Mumble = #1 Dan Dierdork = #2 I agree that Joe Thiesman sucks but mainly because the guy contradicts himself in the same sentence at times. He'll sing praises for a QB (go figure) and at the first sign of trouble throw the focking guy under the bus in a heartbeat. Why couldn't Lawrence Taylor have fallen on this guy's head instead of his leg?!
Snoopy1 0 Posted June 3, 2007 Probably a lot don't remember, but Terry Bradshaw did game analyst work after retiring, before getting the studio job. I can't remember ever hearing any worse then him, including Joey T. He made the games unbearable. Ironically, I love him in the studios, think he's funny and his love of the game is clearly evident, but as a color man...

I know he doesnt do any actual games but skip bayless freaking annoys the crap out of me with his whiney approach to everything.
Bye Week 0 Posted June 3, 2007 1. Joe Theisman - Idiot 2. Brent Musberger - Captain Hyperbole 3. Dan Deirdorf - ZZZZZZZZZZZ I can't stand ANY of these guys. No matter what is going on in a game, I always get the feeling that they are secretly rooting for the team I want to lose Honorable mention: Brent Jones - not becuase I dislike him, but because he is just pathetic. He was so bad, that every game I would watch where he was commentating, I would squirm in my seat b/c I would feel embarrassed for him.
BMoney 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Good calls on Steven A Smith and Joe Theisman, however I feel the worst is Hawk Harrelson, the White Sox announcer. He's easily the most annoying and biased announcer in sports. His phrases are terrible as well. you ever try to listen to a sox game on the radio? they arent any better either..both guys jabbering at once...talking stupid..not explaining whats going on...they suck hard.... as much as i HATE the cubs..i do enjoy pat hughes and santo..they are fun to listen to..especially when things implode... ill throw a vote in for joe buck..that annoying azz and uh...the uh nascar uh guy..uh chris uh myers... seriously..i thought that rule 1 of broadcasting 101..dont speak unless you can avoid the uhs.... its all he does..and more dead air than jim rome.... well uh...welcome to uh...the drive on fox uh....
