Bouve 0 Posted September 2, 2007 Anyone eyeing the FSU/Clemson game tomorrow night??? I'm mildly liking FSU (-3.5) today... FSU is down to -3 at my book. Last year Clemson ran well mostly in part because of their OL but with 4 new starters on the OL and an inexperienced QB, I think FSU can shut them down. The under is an attractive pick as well. good luck
Da Bomb 0 Posted September 2, 2007 LSU -17The Tigers have something to prove, and Miss State is still as awful as ever. I will be shocked if LSU doesn't double cover this line to start the year off. MSU won't hit double digits, and LSU should score at least 35. Tulsa -4.5 The new coaching staff in town brings a great spread offense that should put up a ton of points, and QB Paul Smith is a perfect fit for it. They should light up the scoreboards and slaughter ULM. Colorado -2.5 Dan Hawkins and this Buffaloes squad were absolutely embarassed last year, but son/QB Cody Hawkins is a baller and this team should really bounce back this year. A week one rivalry victory will do the trick. Virginia -4.5 Al Groh's team is a sneaky pick early this season. They return most of their starters, and the defense will be dominating at times with Chris Long up front and a great set of 3-4 LBs. Wyoming will have a terrible time trying to score. Connecticut -6 Come on, we're talking about Duke here. No reason to think this team can be anything less than awful just like every other year. UConn is actually building a respectable program, and Donald Brown II will run for a huge game as the Huskies roll. Illinois +5 My week one upset special. I think the Big 12 is a bit overworked this year and will disappoint early. Zook has brought in a lot of big time recruits, and Juice Williams and Arrelious Benn will step onto the national scene in a big way with this home upset. Georgia Tech +2.5 Notre Dame is an absolute joke this year. They will be lucky to make a bowl game. Literally the entire offense is gone, and even worse, the entire defense returns. If this same collection of talent went by any other name, Tech would be a ten point favorite. Cal -5.5 The Bears were embarassed last year in Tennessee, and it's payback time. Longshore and DeSean Jackson are ready to light up the scoreboards, and Erik Ainge is ailing. Tennessee is due to fall apart this year, too many big question marks. FSU -3 Papa Bowden and boys are back in a big way this year, and they'll show everyone on national TV Monday night. Clemson is not consistent enough yet, and new QB Cullen Harper cant possibly be ready in his first start to face such a swarming defense as this. Noles win big. 6-2. missed on virginia by a lot and got robbed on the illinois game. good start.

Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted September 2, 2007 A miserable day. No excuses. I sucked. Particularly frustrating was the close losses early by Col St and Wake For, and by the end of the day, some of the games weren't even close. Lot's of chalk covering today, and I was on the wrong end of that. Off to another slow start this year. Did I mention that I sucked? LSUtiger 9 Posted September 3, 2007 I've got 1 unit on the Texas Tech v. SMU over (60) Thinking about putting another on a parlay on FSU and the under tonight...anyone else getting in on the action today?
phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 NCAA YTD: 13-14; -11.0 units Subset: 2 unit plays or higher: 10-11; -10.7 units Subset: Halftime plays: 2-1; +2.0 units CFL: 20-14; +11.8 units Monday CFL (1:00PM EST) Toronto (-3.5) for 3 units WINNER Toronto 1st H (-1.5) 3 units WINNER Toronto 2nd H (-.5) for 3 units WINNER (4:00 PM EST) UNDER Edm/Calg (55.5) for 2 units LOSER NCAA SMU (+9) for 1 unit LOSER Clemson 1st H (+1.5) for 1 unit WINNER Clemson (+3.5) for 1 unit WINNER Taking a shot on the under in Calgary, as the Stamps tend to play much better defense at home, and the top defensive player in this game, Gass at LB, returns for Edmonton from suspension. This game should have a playoff type atmosphere, as Calgary and Edm are fighting it out for the last playoff spot in the West Division, and those kind of games tend to produce better defensive efforts than usual. QB Michael Bishop returns for Toronto today, and that is huge. Toronto has lost every game since he got hurt, as they were actually starting 4th string Rocky Butler for a few games. Toronto averages 34 points a game with Bishop at QB. On the other hand, Hamilton has benched their QB, and is going with Timmy Chang for the long term. Chang is going to be throwing against the best pass defense in the league, a defense that also gets tremendous pressure on the QB. Hamilton is 1-4 SU at home vs Eastern division teams. This game is for 3rd place in the Eastern division, which is also the last seed in the division that makes the playoffs. Important game for both teams, but Toronto seesm to be in a better offensive position, and have more talent overall. I'll lay the road chalk. Good luck to all. phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 any college today Philli? No. I don't like either game. I just need to regroup, and be more selective with better plays until I turn it around. All these one point losses are eating me alive. Good luck.

phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Toronto falls behind 8-0, but just went up 14-8. I could really use a win on this game. First half play is what I'm concentrating on early. Early, very early in the game, near the beginning of the 2nd quarter. I'll find the link for the second game today. I'll be bailing out by 6:00 PM EST, as I have my last draft of the year upcoming. My other big money league, 10 teamer, drafting out of the 6 hole, and I'm co-commish, so I have a lot of writing to do during the draft. My drinking stops...now. Much to my disappointment. Grind 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Not to jump ahead of myself, but I was checking out next weeks lines. Does Oregon run a pretty spread offense? Is the QB mobile? Michigan is favored by eight and I think that is about 18 points too high.
art schlichter's bookie 0 Posted September 3, 2007 YTD 0-2 FSU -3.5 TTech -8.5 gl to all I love Penn State next week.
phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Adding: Toronto (-.5) 2nd H for 3 units WINNER Obviously, my favorite game this week. Toronto up 18-8 at the half, Toronto running off the last 18 points of the game, and I think they continue to dominate. The linesmaker is telling you this game will be a blow out, since Toronto is favored, even after being up by 10 points at the half. Goodluck.
jkg31885 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Is there a reason everyone is on tech today? I personally like SMU at home getting laid 10. They are returning 16 starters from last years team a team who looked very strong at times during the season. Anybody give me a reason to not take these guys?? They were 5-1 at home last year with the spread as well. Just wondering y 80% is on tech and if im missing something thank you

phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Toronto up 21-8. Eh, I'll give the NCAA another shot, as I changed my mind... Monday SMU (+9) for 1 unit Clemson 1st H (+1.5) for 1 unit Clemson (+3.5) for 1 unit Just a couple of small plays, gut feeling, hoping to turn my luck around. JetsFan28 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I don't like either side in the Tech/SMU game, so I put a play on Texas Tech -5.5 for the 1st half. I figure there will be a lot of points scored and hopefully Tech is up a touchdown at the half. SMU could very well cover this game though.

I was going to just follow some others with T.Tech, but your post has me liking SMU. Game is in 35 minutes. I noticed PhillyBear likes this side as well. However, other good posters are siding with T.Tech. My play: SMU +10.5 (bought 1 point), 1 unit
phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Atta boy philly. Sitting out? C'mon now! I know. I feel like a jackass. But Toronto is driving. I need a TD here. I could really use Toronto to pick up 9 units on the game, but I won't, since I keep losing close games. But I figured that I had the Toronto 1st H cashed, so what the hell, let's give the dogs another shot. Hey, what do you know? Toronto TD. 28-8. I needed that. Toronto for the game and for the 2nd H have a shot.

phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Toronto FG. up 32-14. But the back door is wide open against my 2nd H play. Since Hamilton will go for 2 when they score a TD. Hamilton 3rd stringer QB is in the game, I think. But prevent defense is in effect.

phillybear 366 Posted September 3, 2007 Final. Toronto covers the 1st H, 2nd H, and the game. A huge 9 unit pickup for me. Really helps to heal the wounds from NCAA this week. 32-14 final. Hamilton RB fumbled on the last play of the game.
