BLS 315 Posted September 27, 2007 Ron Paul has raised over $500,000 online via personal contributions in LESS than 3 days. www.ronpaul2008.com Email Received today: September 27, 2007 Frankly, I'm floored. And very, very grateful. Our $500,000 online fundraising goal for the end of the quarter was reached so fast it took my breath away. But we can't stop now. So I am raising the bar to $1 million by midnight, September 30th. I am so grateful for all you have done. Would you help me with this? Whenever I face a hit piece on tv, or a smear in a newspaper column, I remember my secret weapon: you. In establishment politics, people make campaign contributions because they want something: a contract, a subsidy, a special-interest deal. But the thousands of people who contribute to this campaign want no favors from big government -- which must come at the expense of their fellow citizens, and sometimes our soldiers' lives. They want only what is their God-given, natural, and constitutional right: their freedom. What a difference from the other campaigns. What a refreshing change from politics as usual. What a sign of the reborn American freedom that can be ours, and our children's, and our grandchildren's. Aggressive wars, income taxes, national IDs, domestic spying, torture regimes, secret prisons, Federal Reserve manipulation -- we don't have to take it any more. And the next step to not taking it is that $1 million goal. Please give www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ as much as you can, before midnight on Sunday, September 30th. There are two reasons: 1) We need the money. As we move into the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, then South Carolina, California, Texas, and all the rest, we need your support. We can't duplicate the spending of the big boys, and we don't have to, thanks to the internet and our magnificent army of volunteers. But we need constant website improvements, phone banks, voter registration and get out the vote efforts, mailings, travel, printings, many small offices, targeted TV and radio ads, legal and accounting help, and 101 other things. And without donors like you, we can't do a darn thing. 2) I want to make the mainstream media sit up and take notice. They did when we beat John McCain for cash-on-hand in the last quarter. This quarter, we can really shock them -- if you help. Our total can show the sort of enthusiasm, organization, and grassroots support that will chill every big-government backer, and warm the heart of every lover of freedom -- and open the eyes of the media. Please, help me win a victory for liberty with your most generous gift. You and I are engaged in an historic enterprise. It is growing in power and influence by the day and by the hour. But it will stutter to a stop without people like you. I need your help. Our cause needs your help. We can make $1 million. We can win this thing. Please help me do it. See our progress and donate today: www.ronpaul2008.com . Sincerely, Ron

IndyTom 0 Posted September 27, 2007 Ron Paul Tired Of Just Being An Internet Sensation, Withdraws Candidacy Internet phenom and presidential candidate Ron Paul has decided to withdraw his candidacy after continuing to be ignored by people in real life. At a recent campaign stop in upstate New York, Paul was greeted by only 4 supporters; they also happened to be his aides who are zealously pushing forward Paul's campaign with YouTube videos, blogs, and banner ads on websites. Paul is the #1 most watched presidential candidate on YouTube, and the most searched candidate on Technocrati. Yet that popularity has not seemed to carry over to reality. One passerby saw Paul during his campaign stop and shouted "Go back to the internet you loser!" "But I love the Constitution!" pleaded Paul. "Nobody cares," replied the passerby. "Go away." A dejected Ron Paul went back to his campaign bus to cry and ask his aides why life is so unfair. When they could not come up with a decent answer, Paul decided to hold a press conference and withdraw his candidacy. "I'm tired of just being another internet sensation for everybody's entertainment," Paul said at the press conference. "I'm not Miss Teen South Carolina. I have things to say. But nobody in real life will take me seriously. They watch my online videos, but when I see them on the street, they snub me or throw rocks. People search for me in the blogosphere, but not on the campaign trail. Therefore I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for president of the United States. I will now take any questions." The entire room was empty except for one of Paul's aides filming him for YouTube. "Yes, you there," Paul said to him. "Uh, I don't have a question," he replied. "OK, no more questions," Paul insisted, and left the podium. RINK yes, I know it's a spoof but still funny
VikesFan 1 Posted September 28, 2007 got the same email today. I was a bit surprised. He needs to run fundraisers more often if he's raising money that quick.

VikesFan 1 Posted September 28, 2007 If I remember right, Hitler was in favor of expanding wars, while Paul has been decidely against that... There are 1 or 2 others running, however, who might fit that bill a bit closer, and have probably raised more money too.

Me_2006 14 Posted September 30, 2007 Didn't Howard Dean raise a shitload of money in 04? Not comparing the two or anything, just saying a ton of online support and things of that nature don't always translate to political success.
EMoney 0 Posted September 30, 2007 I was very impressed with the PBS debate when he had the balls to say he had changed his position on the death penalty. That isn't a make or break issue for me but its something that reinforces that Paul is his own person more times than not.

Brad GLuckman 519 Posted October 1, 2007 Are you guys serious? Am I the only one who thinks Ron Paul looked like a senile and angry old man during the debates? The guy definately borders on crazy. His reasoning that we shouldn't be in the middle east because Al Qaeda doesn't want us there was classic...then his back-tracking when Mike Wallace called him on it was just great. I respect the guy for standing by some of his beliefs that his party disagrees with...but he's a complete joke.

That's not a shot...it's just that his ideals are deeper than what appears on the surface. Take the time to research him, and read some of his articles, bills, or even books he's written. You'll find that he's a VERY intelligent person, who has a pisspoor methodology of speaking. He's lightyears ahead of his time, but he'll never make it to another election cycle. www.ronpaullibrary.org PS- Perch...go fuckk yourself.
