But golf as a sport isn't a walk in the park where 2 guys end up at the end of each tourney. Tennis = doesn't matter besides 1 day out of the whole tourney. Golf = anything can happen. Not many and Tiger>>>>>>Federer when it comes name recognition in this country. Who beats Federer in the 2nd round. Just because Federer is not getting beat by Nadal and HAS been beat a few times before doesn't mean much. Obviously he isn't undefeated in his career. But about 95% of the time you can just move 2 names down the board at the start and you will be right on who ends up in the finals. You wanted competition for Tiger didn't you? This is a useless conversation that is drug on way too long. You like Tennis and to watch the same guys win each slam. I like the game of golf, and I worship Tigers Woods, and think watching a golf tourney at Augusta, Bay Hill, St, Andrews, Torry Pines....is better than watching 2 guys swat a ball back and forth on a couple different surfaces. I will say that 20 yrs ago there weren't any women of the Williams stature/athleticism but it matters not. The speed and power difference is absurdly tilted toward the men. You can't handicap a tennis match for man vs woman, but you can in golf by hitting off different tees. Don't delude yourself...watch a mixed doubles match sometimes and you'll get a feel for the difference, probably 65% of the points are ended with a girl hitting to a guy or guy hitting to a girl, the power blows them off the court. On the same note, I played basketball several times with guys on us national/pan am teams and played a co-ed tournament vs women on college teams...same thing there...again, in my athletic prime I'd venture to say I could hang with most women, but some of those guys absolutely will blow you out of the gym. I played pickup game vs Sean Elliott before he signed with the Spurs with two guys from my school that end up playing Div IA ball and Elliott was off the charts better than both combined. The scenery is definitely better watching/playing golf...but make no mistake...Tiger is an athletic guy playing a non-athletic sport...and just about every tennis player on the tour is a better athlete than everybody not named Tiger. However, i've logged a few rounds of golf and have found that I lose interest at about 9 holes. I either get bored or start drinking, either way my game starts to slip around there. It wasnt that long ago (i think when annika was playing with the men at colonial) that John McEnroe was asked about women competing with men.
