I have a question for the Seamheads

I understand the DH is an American League thing but during certain Interleague play the NL can use it too.

BUT during Spring Training when NL teams play other NL teams, I've noticed the DH is used and Pitchers don't bat.

My question is WTF?

Why does the NL not use the DH all the F time?

Why make the NL go to the DH? Can the DH and make the pitchers hit in the AL...

During ST if both managers agree, the NL can use the DH. They do it to get some guys extra ABs, later in the spring, you'll see them go back to normal to get the pitchers some ABs.

I wouldn't say they think the DH is better, its just that they have probably 60 guys on their team, want to get them more time in game situations.

 

The DH sucks, I prefer national league ball.

Ok, I hear ya but if it's better to get the extra guys ABs in ST, then why not give real hitters ABs in the regular seaon.

Why make lousy batting Pitchers hit? They don't make hitter Pitch.

 

I was an Orioles fan for years and just rather see a batter hit who has a chance of hitting the damn ball.
