So I figure if we can get like 1,000 votes against these dudes, maybe FFToday will try and do something about them. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy a great argument, even if it is from the eyes of a homer...but I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. It's gotten to the point where I can't listen to anything they say. As someone put it:

Any opp wins a close game = Pats gave them a gift

Pats win a close game = Pats just know how to win

Brady loses a game = blame it on supporting cast or play calling

Hoodie loses a game = gutsy call that most coaches wouldn't have the ballz to make

Manning loses a game = Can't win in the clutch

Manning wins in the clutch = Manning has a better supporting cast

Manning wins in the clutch with rookie WR's = Manning has to have help from the def

Manning wins in the clutch with rookie WR's and rookie DB's = Pats gave them a gift

 

They constantly harass other fans, and don't really add anything but annoying, blind homerism..I'm talking about the BridBradycrap and BillBelichick'sjocstrap and whatnot. It's so bad that in a power rankings, BirdBrady's explanation of the Colts included "the Colts were only letting up 13.4 points per game. The Patriots hung 34 up on them in their house". I mean c'mon. I know it's unreasonable to kick them out, but take all this blind homerism to a New England board, cause clearly you're just looking for support and sympathy about your team.

 

At the very least, I'm hoping those fans that I'm talking about actually take note HOW RIDICULOUS everything they say is. Can ONE fan simply say, Peyton Manning played an UNBELIEVABLE game, and his 4th quarter performance was one of his career bests. And our DLine got pressure on Brady, and made some important plays (Maroney's fumble, Bethea's INT, holding the Pats to a FG after the 4th quarter INT by Manning, the 4th and 2 stop). I mean the closest thing to a compliment I've heard since last night's game was "Manning did what he needed to do after the Patriots handed the Colts the game). So lets open the polls

If my coach did that, I would have no problem telling Caldwell he made a stupid mistake and lost the game for his team. Nothing wrong with it! Peyton Manning is awesome. He played an excellent game.

 

Here's what cracks me up. The Colts/Manning Buttboys all over here always point to QB rating and stats as the reason Brady is better.

 

Yet Sunday night Brady had better stats and a higher QB rating. Not substantially but definitely better.

 

But Peyton was clutch at the end and won the game. Which is the reason why we usually point to Brady as a better QB.

 

Thus why the change MZManningButtboy? I thought statistics were what made a QB great?

 

Manning got lucky. Colts got lucky. Pats handed that to Indy. UGH

Well, Colts team was the better team as we won. But we were out played for most of the game. Pats, Steelers and Colts are the teams of the decade for many different reasons.

They performed well for about 45 minutes. Then, Manning and the Colts made some great plays that brought them back into the game. Good or bad call by Belicheck, awesome play by Bullitt, great catch by Wayne and Colts win.

Wow, now did that kill you to actually EXPRESS a compliment? I mean, for all that's been talked about after the game, how have you guys not given one ounce of due credit?

 

 

And as for me complimenting the Pats, that is where we differ, and further proves you are delusional. First off, immediately after the game, I called my old roommate who is a diehard Patriot fan. I didn't call to boast, not to brag, or rub it in his face, but I called to talk about the game...to see what he thought of the decision to go for it on 4th and 2, did he like the play call, what'd he think of the spot...I also mentioned how the Patriots looked like a better team for the good part 55 minutes, and have a lot of positives to take away from the game. They had played a better game than us, and had 3 or 4 chances to easily put the game away. They failed to do so, and Peyton Manning put together an all-time comeback, and one of the most clutch 4th quarter performances I've ever witnessed (3 TD drives of under 2:30). Brady looked back to form, Moss is still nasty, neither team's DEF showed up really, but I think it was more of a case of 2 of the greatest QBs ever taking things into their own hands.

 

I can pay Brady a compliment, I can rationally discuss the Patriots and Colts performance...Patriots fans?? "We were the better team, but the Colts got lucky and won the game, even though we really know who the winners are, blah blah blah".

well i still think the PATS are better than the COLTS. They are both very good but INDY's offense is not what NE's is. I do however think Peyton is one hell of a QB even though i hate him.(its kind of like Jeter on the yankees. I have a real hatred for the yankees and almost everything to do with that franchise but Jeter(Rivera and Posada too) is different. Now i do not have anywhere close to same HATE i have for the Yankees as i do for Colts but you get my point)

If I wanted to (which I don't) I could make a case that NE outplayed us Sunday night. We got a good call on the PI and Maroney fumbled into the end zone. The 4th down call was stupid. Not because they went for it but because the play should have been at least 5 yards down field instead of right at the sticks.

 

The truth is that Manning and the Colts showed great resilience and determination to continue to bring it despite all of the momentum being with the Pats. Nobody is talking about the tackle Bullitt made on Faulk or the fact that Manning played a good game and a GREAT 4th quarter. Wayne made a couple of highlight reel catches and the defense put pressure on Brady in the 4th quarter.

 

This debate is slanted depending on who your favorite team is and the reason it will go on forever is that both sides have legitimate points. I, for one, enjoyed the game and would not welcome a rematch in the playoffs. I would not mind a trip to the Superbowl and a shot at our second ring without hosting Mr. Brady and the Pats again. All that bunk about "to be the best you have to beat the best" has cost a lot of good teams a championship. I want to play the easiest schedule possible to a second ring.

True Pats and Colts fan enjoy the rivalry and the smack... and neither will ever be swayed by any argument about any situation in the game. That's why we come here and talk about it... s'fun. That's my list of Pat's Fan Logic in the first post and I truly believe that and I'm fairly certain a lot of true Pats fans believe it too tho they'd never admit it. It wouldn't be hard to create a similar Colts list as well that we'd all probably secretly agree with.

 

What we enjoy most is the irony, it's human nature. Pats had no business winning their first game of the year against the Bills. They were actually beaten by the Ravens during their undefeated year if it weren't for an asst coach calling a timeout as the ball was being hiked, even tho timeouts must technically come from the head coach or player. The tuck rule that didn't exist at the time gave them one of those precious rings. And a bizarro fumble-recover-fumble play against the Chargers got them another one.

 

Yet when they end up on the losing side of adversity... a regular season, non-big-game of all things... they're ready to petition the league to get the L switched to a W cause they deserved it more.
