Big Zeke 0 Posted November 30, 2009 Every website I use on a weekly basis said Jackson was useless with Lynch active. Fock them! Hopefully the Bills get Lynch on the bench where he belongs. If Turner wasn't declared active or if I just wasn't going to have the time to check on Sun AM, I would have been able to start Jackson today.
XRage 0 Posted November 30, 2009 Hope Lynch continues to start...the guy i'm chasing picked up Fred Jackson recently. Same here. I drafted both of them, rode Jackson while Lynch was suspended, then traded Lynch the week he came back from suspension. Held on to Jackson until his bye week where I cut him loose. League leader scooped Jackson up. I scooped up Lynch this week after his owner (the same guy I traded him to) cut him. I really need Lynch to somehow maintain his starting job because of this, but the more the season wears on the more it becomes clear that Jackson is just the better RB and should be getting the majority of the touches. GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted November 30, 2009 I'm in the position where I might be able to get Fred Jackson off of waivers. One guy in our league must've thought that Lynch was the starter, and he dumped Fred Jackson at the last minute. Well, I'm higher in the waiver priority list and will easily give up Snelling for Fred Jackson. I'll admit the Jets defense next week doesn't look that great for Jackson to repeat this week's performance.
kutulu 1,677 Posted November 30, 2009 Coach Perry Fewell indicated after Sunday's win that Fred Jackson could permanently unseat Marshawn Lynch to be the Bills' starting running back. "I made that decision (to start Jackson) really during the course of the week, just watching us practice, watching our tempo and just gut instinct," Fewell said. "Fred has been very productive." Jackson got 20 touches, gaining 118 yards and scoring twice, compared to Lynch's 15 yards on four chances. The Bills are unlikely to go back to Lynch as long as Jackson is playing well. kutulu 1,677 Posted November 30, 2009 Why didn't this news come out this week when all of the FFB sites said Lynch looked good to go? I benched Jackson for Wells I could have used it as well..started Breaston over FJax...also not knowing Warner wasn't playing till it was too late. Shouldn't matter, but I would've taken the 30 points anyway
mdbomb 5 Posted November 30, 2009 Me too. I started Lynch over Jax and it might have cost me a 1st round bye....
PATSSOX 22 Posted November 30, 2009 i hope that report is correct!!! I have been struggling to find a good #3 RB/Flex player and Lynch has been just plain GARBAGE This would be a HUGE boost for me going into final week of regular season

FenixTx972 2 Posted November 30, 2009 as long as Jackson is the man while im still alive in playoffs than thats all i need and care about totally understand, just wonder about it. what if he fumbles early and coach pulls him? that will cost you a fantasy game. Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted November 30, 2009 He did pretty good against a good Miami Rush DEF and his schedule looks decent: Week 13 Jets Week 14 @ K.C. Week 15 Pats Week 16 @ ATL
TheBlade 3 Posted November 30, 2009 The other thing to remember is that Jackson catches a lot of passes out of the backfield, which helps him boost his stats, particularly in ppr leagues.
mdbomb 5 Posted December 3, 2009 Has the coach said anything about this situation yet? I hope that wasn't a ploy to fire Lynch up. I started Lynch over Jackson and got a goose egg, lost by 7 points while Jackson had 23 on my bench, probably costing me a 1st round BYE... I'm half temped to start both of them, although my other options are not great.
Pheagle 4 Posted December 3, 2009 RB Marshawn Lynch(notes) has been relegated to a backup role by interim coach Perry Fewell, who has determined that Fred Jackson(notes) deserves the bulk of the carries. Jackson responded with 116 total yards on 20 touches last game. The move is the latest setback for Lynch, whose season unraveled before it ever began when he was slapped with a three-game suspension for violating the NFL’s conduct code. He was very diplomatic when asked about Jackson moving ahead of him. “If I could sit down and watch Fred do his thing then that’s what I’m going to do,” he said. “As long as we continue to put wins up I’m satisfied. I’m glad to see Fred out there doing his thing though. … (I’ll) just come and show up and work every day, give what I got, and let it play from there.” Not exactly direct from the coach but I don't see Fewell going back to Lynch anytime some... PATSSOX 22 Posted December 3, 2009 This is from the 30th but sounds like he is starter for rest of year. Fred Jackson-RB- Bills Nov. 30 - 12:29 am et Coach Perry Fewell indicated after Sunday's win that Fred Jackson could permanently unseat Marshawn Lynch to be the Bills' starting running back. Source: Buffalo News Related: Marshawn Lynch here some more from CBS: * Jackson to keep up the action? Fred Jackson will have to do a lot to top last week's two-touchdown effort against Miami, but he'll try in Week 13 against the Jets on Thursday in Toronto. Jackson has seemingly supplanted Marshawn Lynch as the primary rusher in the Buffalo offense, though he's still working behind a patchwork offensive line. In three career games against the Jets Jackson has totaled 147 yards with one touchdown, including 52 rush yards in his previous meeting with them this season. The Jets enter the game ranked 13th against the run but holding opposing rushers to 3.9 yards per carry with only eight touchdowns allowed on the ground. We like the fact that Jackson should see around 15 touches, but that's not a guarantee. It's also not a guarantee that he'll be productive against the Jets. Consider Jackson a No. 3 Fantasy RB or flex choice for this matchup.
Big Zeke 0 Posted December 3, 2009 here some more from CBS: I'm starting to view CBS as a lesser source of FF news. I think they just like the fact that Jackson and action rhymes, since their headline last week was something like "No action Jackson?" and went on to claim he'd be useless since Lynch would be active as his injury wasn't serious. They were dead wrong last week, so I'd put more weight on the quote of the Bills coach and other sources that back up their predictions with logical thought.... But no one has really found out if he will actually start and get the touches this week. He could have only gotten the touches last week because Lynch's shoulder was still banged up i really have no choice but to start Jackson cause im certainly not starting Lynch

PATSSOX 22 Posted December 3, 2009 Ive got Slaton in 2 leagues and have not played him since their bye. Rat Jr. can't be trusted i traded Marion Barber and Felix Jones for him in week 10 i think I was sick of Barber's crap and have played Slaton once and he got me 11 pts which is more than Barber had gotten me the last 3 times i had him i think It does not even look close talent wise between Slaton and Brown yet dipsh!t keeps running Brown out there

Who knows what's going to happen on that $hitty team in Buffalo. I'm starting Jackson tonight, because I can't wait for the official word on Turner (nor can I risk playing Turner even if somehow he is active again this week). hosierjoe 3 Posted December 4, 2009 From Rotoworld.com The Bills official website confirms that Fred Jackson will start Thursday night's game against the Jets. Interim coach Perry Fewell is refreshingly putting production over pedigree in choosing F-Jax over Lynch. The Jets run defense has slipped a bit since losing NT Kris Jenkins, making the slashing Jackson a viable RB2 play this week. With nearly 5.0 yards per touch compared to just 3.8 for Lynch, Jackson is a good bet to keep the job the rest of the way. Dec. 3 - 7:14 pm et

Im really just hoping he establishes himself as the clear #1 and gets the majority of touches My thoughts exactly. I'm holding him out one more week since they're going against the Jets, giving Jamaal Charles the rock vs Denver (at K.C.). Both are risky plays and I'm forced to start one because I can't trust PThomas anymore with Sean Peyton who should be known now as Rat/Shanny Sr. Next week is the payoff for Jackson vs K.C. (and Charles vs Buffalo)
