ESPN Predicting a Chargers vs Dallas superbowl

Bolts don't have what it takes to win the big one.

If that happens, I'm officially not making fun of Romo anymore. If he takes THAT group of WRs (say what you want, Miles Austin should not be a #1 WR on a team talent-wise) to a Superbowl with Wade focking Phillips as a coach, he'll earn MAJOR respect from me.

Although I have to admit, he's been a beast this year anyway. Barber has been meh, Romo really has carried them at times. And has kept the mistakes under control. Almost Favre-esque at times.

As for the Chargers, big play threats like Sproles, ball hawking D, Rivers is just a damn winner, LT is good inside the 20 and Jackson/Gates is a good receiving combo. They're who I'm worried about as a Colts fan.

Still say Colts/Vikings though.

The problem with the Chargers is their defense. It's been ok, but they can't generate a pass rush without blitzing. They're going to have problems facing good passing teams in the playoffs (and there are many experienced QBs in both the AFC and NFC who know how to exploit such a weakness). I can definitely see the Chargers making it to the Superbowl, just on how well they're playing and scoring in bunches, but defense wins championships.

As for the Cowboys, I wouldn't be surprised if they blow it next week against the Eagles. Philadelphia was playing opossum for most of the game, knowing they would likely be facing each other this weekend. They weren't blitzing as they normally do, nor were they really pushing the tempo on offense. The Cowboys are riding so high, acting like they've won the Superbowl, and I can easily see a letdown performance against a hungry Eagles team.

That could happen.

What a ridiculous statement. So you're telling me that the Eagles decided, meh...instead of winning and winning the division, getting a playoff bye, and playing at home in the 2nd round of the playoffs, let's lose to Dallas so we can come back next week and play 'em again.

True.

The Cowboys are riding so high, acting like they've won the Superbowl, and I can easily see a letdown performance against a hungry Eagles team.

That's not true at all.

yeah because the eagles want to have to win three road games as opposed to having a week off and then one home game and another road possible home game.............give me a break

 how are the Cowboys acting like they won the Superbowl? you think they dont understand whats at stake? you think Romo isnt hungry for this game?

you think Wade Philips feels secure in his job without a playoff win?

Not a bad prediction, but not the game I want to see.

I would rather enjoy a Vikes/Jets Super Bowl only to see the old man get the Dirty Sanchez. Not saying it will happen, but would be great to see!

chargers/Saints

if anyone actually thinks its Romo thats gotten them where they are on his own ( yes he has contributed and done his part) is not looking at the big picture. Football will always boil down to the trenches. The lines on both sides of the ball. Look at the times Romo had good games and look at sacks/knock down/hurries on him and the opposing QB.. in that regard (O-line, D-line) dallas has the best combo in the league at that position right now. Its the same for any QB.. Look at how often manning, brees, etc. is sacked.

what I find that seperates the elites is the ability to manage a game when your line is not dominating, you are under pressure and have to think quick on your feet. This is where I find that romo struggles and is trying to improve.

But a great O-line will make QB's shine.. and its usually the QB that gets all the credit.

Although it wouldn't be a game I'd have much desire to watch it'd be better than Dallas/Indy,if that happens I'm boycotting watching my 1st Superbowl and will just get hammered at the party.

The Saints? After a 3-game losing streak going in to the playoffs? They couldn't be more out of sync right now.

best Super Bowl for the nfl would be Vikings vs Jets

about as much chance of that happening as BBB getting laid.

who's saying he did it by himself? the defense is playing money right now. the running game is resurgent. Romo is also playing very good. the O-line is good, but GREAT? is that what you're saying? when has this group ever been thought of as great?

so lemme guess, you're saying the above now, but if the Cowboys lose you'll be one to say Romo choked, right? when the Cowboys are doing good you gotta make sure Romo doesnt get too much credit, but if they lose it's all on Romo.

and your assessment about Romo above is lacking. what you fail to mention is, Romo is one the best in the league at avoiding the sack. in fact, he makes a lot of big plays while avoiding sacks and extending the play. he's been much better at doing this and not throwing bad picks. which was one of his problems in past seasons.

look, im not saying Romo all that. but if you're gonna break down the Cowboys you gotta tell the whole story.

The chargers and dallas would be the best superbowl and dallas can and will win...We had the chargers beaten until ware got hurt and folk missed some kicks

dallas 34 chargers 27

I don't think the refs will let the Dallas DBs maul the Charger receivers all day like the last game if they play in the Super Bowl. Don't act like that game was as close as the score would indicate.

Contrary to whatever belief the Eagles will not go to Dallas and win this week. The Cowboys will be the team blitzing and go right up the middle after McNabb since his starting center is out. Dallas will end up playing theVikings at home and that that'll be as far as the Cowboys get. I too have kindabeen on the Chargers bandwagon lately and but if they go to Indy, even though they've beat them there, they won't beat the Colts at home this year. It's going to be a Colts/Vikings superbowl.

this matchup may not be a lock......but is is not out of the question........the two hottest teams now.........one a 2 seed the other a 3 seed.......it could happen especially given the history the colts have against the chargers and the bad play of the vikes and saints lately.

wow! i'd love to see their complete analysis of dallas v minnesota--i think those are the top 2 in the NFC right now, but philadelphia and NO are still very dangerous.

come to think of it, i haven't actually looked at the bracket yet.

I think it will be a Chargers/Packers super bowl, and an entertaining one at that.

Being a Charger fan, I'm a little nervous that so many people are on the bandwagon now.

GO BOLTS!

:)
