Joey Gladstone 33 Posted August 9, 2010 I don't know a single Eagles fan who seriously thinks we would've won in '04 if it weren't for Spygate. But you phags actually think the Suckbags deserved to win. Who said we deserved to win?! I (and Im assuming all Hawks fans) are merely b!tching about the lack of a level playing field, in response to an actual referee from that game recently admitting it was poorly officiated. Reading comprehension little buddy. Jesus, I had no idea Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia was so accurate.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted August 9, 2010 That's just sh!t talking. And Pats fans bring that on themselves because they're the absolute worst. I already hate redtodd for posting his annual diatribe about running up the score after San Diego throttles KC 49-3. Or edjr's annual "Manning Choked". Pats fans suck. But at least they're not crying about a game 5 years ago. By the way, you absolutely nailed how Leavy is handling all this....which is poorly. He's trying to make peace with a bunch of latte sipping hippees. Friggin' pussy. So when people whine and b!tch about the Pats it's "joking" and "sh!t talking"? Got it, sorry for the confusion guys! Hawk fans aren't crying about a game 5 years ago, they are "joking" and "sh!t talking" about an admission made days ago. If Leavy keeps his mouth shut this thread doesn't exist and this board is as boring as it ever is in early August.

Franknbeans 46 Posted August 9, 2010 Hawk fans aren't crying about a game 5 years ago, Seattle needed to play a perfect game to have a chance of overcoming those calls. Possible, but improbable. It was an ugly game in many respects. It's not excuse making. He have a confession from Bill Leavy that he focked up, and he specifically mentioned calls that could only be interpreted as going against Seattle. The guy is losing sleep over it. It's like hearing a confession after the trial is over. Everybody knows what happened, but it's too late for justice to prevail. But that doesn't mean the family of the victim can't grieve some more over the travesty of the past and make some noise in the media so this sham never is allowed to happen again to some other unsuspecting fan base. The D Jax penalty is a terrible call. If I'm not mistaken, the announcers said the same thing. In that game, at that stage, how do you call that? I'd have no problem throwing a personal foul flag on the defender for faking being pushed off, as there was no contact of any significance. That was a bush league call. There's more contact when you see a hotdog vendor passing a dog to a customer.

FlaHawker 24 Posted August 9, 2010 LMAO - this is just sad They reviewed the Big Ben TD, looks like the ball hit the goal line to me - they even reviewed it and you are still complaining! Ok take that away and you lost 17-10 instead. The DJax call is a clear stiff arm to get separation RIGHT IN FRONT OF AN OFFICIAL IN THE ENDZONE. Will get called every time. You know what is really sad? Your ignorant posts. Educate yourself before spouting off. First, do you know why Leavy reviewed the play and didn't overturn the call? Let me educate you. If you don't believe what I am about to type feel free to check it out with the NFL Network because Rich Eisen asked Mike Baghdad Periera the same question I had while watching the game. Of course you missed this during the game, no doubt. But here goes. When Ben was stopped at the goaline, and he was stopped (otherwise why would he have told Cowher he didn't think he got in and then also repeated the claim on Letteman a night or two later), the linesman immediately signaled 4th down. As he ran in to where Rothlisberger was lying on the field, he then miraculously changes his call to TD. Why? The original call was 4th down. When Rich Eisen brought this up to Baghdad Periera he response was that the lines man got confused. He mistakenly signaled 4th down when he meant to signal TD. Umm yea ok. Now here's the rub. Had the original call stood (4th down) the Steelers would have had to challenge the call. Obviously, if you can believe Leavy, and you do, the play was inconclusive and 4th down would have stood forcing Cowher to either go for it or kick a FG. Thus, poor officiating totally impacted that series of events. Second, as for your DJax comment. Ok sure, this is football and now a patty cake call in the endzone is ok and if that little patty cake call is, as you say, gonna be called everytime, then why no call against Ward who pushed off 10 times harder than Jackson did. I have never really bitched about this call because the Hawks did scored a FG on that drive but again, the noncall on Ward clearly shows that something elese was happening that day. You can either admit it, like Leavy has done, or continue to stick your head in the sand. I think I know what you will do

FlaHawker 24 Posted August 9, 2010 There are bad calls every week and in every game. If the refs didn't job the Seahawks on the plays in question, who's to say the Steelers wouldn't have just found another way to win? Don't you get tired of being wrong all the time? FeelingMN 273 Posted August 10, 2010 Yes because the better team always wins in every sport You just have to be the better team......that day. Pittsburgh had the better team that year, and in SB XL. Hell, Seattle played the 5 and 6 seeds in the playoffs while Pitt played 1,2,3....on the road. At this point, I think you should feel fortunate to have just reached the SB. Maybe next time Seattle will make more plays and they'll win.

FlaHawker 24 Posted August 10, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcTm9PPdT3I&feature=related holding, 10 yard penalty So easily refuted: 1- Haggans was actually offsides 2- While looking at the replay, John Madden commented, "That doesn't look like holding." 3- The NFL changed how holding was called after the Super Bowl because of this play 4- Bill Leavy just admitted he focked that call up. But thanks for playing

Sorry sport, 21-10 is the only stat that matters. And from your link: Put simply, the Seahawks didn't play well enough to win Super Bowl XL. So I'm not sure why you think Seattle made the plays....they didn't. And Leavy admitted to blowing two calls.....two. If two calls are enough to sink your championship hopes, you're not a championship team.

He did not admit just what you have been saying, but you can keep thinking that.
